~ Cursing Abu Bakr and Umar during Ziyarah of all Imam's (as) ~

Imam Sadiq (as) said,

"Recite the following when you come to the grave of al-Husain bin Ali (as), and you may also recite the same besides the graves of all Imams (as)"

(Only required portion is quoted here)

"O Allah, curse the two (Abu Bakr and Umar) who changed Your blessings, disobeyed Your Book, denied Your signs and accused Your Messenger. Stuff their graves and stomachs with fire and prepare a painful chastisement for them. O'Allah, raise the two of them and their associates & their followers blind in Hell. And on Judgment Day raise the two of them and their associates & their followers on their faces, blind and dumb and deaf; their abode is hell; whenever it becomes diminished We will increase to their burning. O Allah, do not make this the last time I come to the Ziyarat of the grave of the son of Your Prophet. Raise him in the praised status where You support Your religion with him and kill Your enemies through him. Indeed You promised this to him and You are the Lord who does not fail His promise."

You can recite the same by the graves of all Imam's (as).

Part of the Sermon 109, Nahjul Balagha

When one loves a thing it blinds him and sickens his heart. Then he sees but with a diseased eye, hears but with unhearing ears. Desires have cut asunder his wit, and the world has made his heart dead, while his mind is all longing for it. Consequently, he is a slave of it and of everyone who has any share in it. Wherever it turns, he turns towards it and wherever it proceeds, he proceeds towards it. He is not desisted by any desister from Allah, nor takes admonition from any preacher. He sees those who have been caught in neglect whence there is neither rescission nor reversion.

(It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah Imam Sadiq (as), from His father (as) having said: ‘The realities of the belief are not completed in a servant until he becomes such that there are in him three qualities – the pondering in the Religion, and the good measurement in the livelihood, and the patience upon the tribulations/difficulties’.

I heard Abu Abdillah عليه السلام saying,

"The servant is in between three (states) – affliction, and pre-determination, and Blessing.
So if there is the affliction upon him from Allah, the patience is Obligatory; and upon him is the pre-determination from Allah, the submission is an Obligation; and upon him is the Blessing from Allah, the appreciation is an Obligation.

Imam Ali

O Kumail! Start your day with the name of Allah, "BISMILLAH" and with "LA HOWLA WA LA QOWWATA ILLA BILLAH" (There is no strength nor power but with Allah) and depend upon Allah. And mention us with our names and send blessings on us (Salawat) and seek refuge with Allah our Lord. This will protect you and everything around you from all evil on that day.

Small Miracle of the Imam

Mohammad bin Yahya says that;

"I saw Imam Mohammad bin Ali عليه السلام hitting his hands upon the leaves of olive trees and the leaves were turning into silver in His hands. And I (the narrator) took lot of silver from it and sold it in the markets and it did not change"

A number of our companions from Sahl b. Ziyad from Ibn Fadhal from who he mentioned from Abi 'Abdillah Ja'far b. Muhammad Al-Sadiqع, he said: There are three things that complain to Allah 'Azawajal: An abandoned Masjid whose people don't pray in, a scholar among ignorant people and a Mushaf placed aside where dust builds up on it for not being read. The greatness and superiority of Imammah:

'Ali b. Muhammad from Sahl b. Ziyad from Muhammad b. al-Hussain from Ishaq b. 'Abd al-'Aziz from Jaber b. 'Abdillahر from Abi Ja'far Muhammad b. 'Ali Al-Baqirع, I heard him say: Verily Allahسبحانه وتعالى took Ibrahimع as His slave before He made him a prophet, and He made him a prophet before He made him a messenger, and He made him a messenger before He made him His Khalil(dear friend), and He made him His Khalil before He made him an Imam. So when He gathered all those things for him in the end, He said to him: "O Ibrahim, indeed I am appointing you as an Imam to the people." So from the greatness of this station in the eyes of Ibrahimع, he said to Allah: "O Allah. And of my descendants?" Allah said: "My covenant does not include the wrongdoers." [al-Kafi]

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham was tried by his Lord with commands and he fulfilled them. [ Allah ] said, "Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people." [Abraham] said, "And of my descendants?" [ Allah ] said, "My covenant does not include the wrongdoers." [Al-Baqarah: 124]

Al-Quran: "O you who have believed, fear Allah and seek the means [of nearness] to Him and strive in His cause that you may succeed."

Kitab al kafi: (Book of Dua, H3052, CH1,H6):

"You must plead before Allah swt for help ; you can not seek nearness to Allah swt by any means better than pleading before him for help"

salam alaikum,

all from al kafi vol 1. hope you don't mind me posting a compilation instead of only one ..

on intelligence:

"If you would hear good things about a man, you should examine how good his intelligence is, because he will be rewarded according to his intelligence."

"When you find a man who prays and fasts a great deal do not become proud of him until you see how his intelligence is."

-Prophet Mohamed

"Allah, on the Day of Judgment, will hold everyone accountable according to the degree of the intelligence that He had given them in their worldly life."

-Imam Mohamed al Baqir

"The holy Prophet never spoke to people from the height and with the full power of his intelligence. The holy Prophet has said, "We the community of the Prophets are commanded to speak to people up to the level of their intelligence and understanding."

"The most perfect of intelligence are those who are the best in moral discipline."

"Intelligence is the guide of a true believer."

"I asked Imam abu ‘Abdallah this, ‘May Allah take my soul in service for your cause, I have a neighbor who prays a great deal, gives much charity and very often visits Makka and he seems alright.’" The Imam asked, "O ibn Ishaq how is his intelligence?" I then said, "May Allah take my soul in service for your cause, he does not have any intelligence" "Nothing from what he does will be raised up." Replied the Imam.

The below 2 narrations highlight the staunch reply of Imam Hasan Askari (as) to the one who objects to the Imam's tearing his shirt upon the martyrdom of his father Imam Ali Naqi (as).

Abu Mohammad Imam Hasan Askari (as) came out in the funeral of Abi al-Hasan Imam Ali Naqi (as) in such a state that His shirt was torn. So Abu Aon al-Abrash wrote to the Imam saying, "Who has seen or heard from any of the Imam's (as) tearing of the dress like what you did?"

Imam Hasan Askari (as) wrote back to him saying, " O' Fool, what do you understand what this is, verily Prophet Moosa tore his shirt for Haroon (as)."

[source: Rijaal al-Kashi, Pg. 572, Hadith. 1084]

So Abu Aon al-Abrash wrote to Imam Hasan Askari (as) saying, "Surely the people are disliking your tearing of your shirt upon (the martyrdom  of) Imam Ali Naqi (as)".

Imam Hasan Askari (as) replied to him, " O' Fool, Who are you, verily Prophet Moosa tore his shirt for Haroon (as). Verily from the people are those who are born as believers, live as believers and die as believers. And there are those who are born disbelievers, live as disbelievers and die as disbelievers. And there are those who are born as believers, live as believers and die as disbelievers. And you will not die until you disbelieve and your brain changes.

Then he did not die until his children hid him from the people and locked him in his room because of him loosing his mind and whisperings (of Satan) and excess of confusion and rejecting the Imamat.

true islamic battlefield leadership and morals:

from nahjul balagha:

imam ali a.s

"Do not take the initiative in fighting, let them begin it. It is because by the Favour of Allah you are on the side of truth and justice. Leave them until they begin their hostilities and then you are at liberty to take to fighting. Their keenness to begin a battle will be another proof of your sincere belief in the orders of Allah .

If Allah favours you with success and inflicts defeat to the enemy, then do not attack those who have surrendered, do not injure the disabled and weak, do not assault the wounded, do not excite women and do not make them angry with rude behaviour even if they use harsh and insulting words against your commander and officers because they are physically and mentally weak and get excited easily and frightened quickly. During the days of the Prophet we had strict orders not to touch, molest or insult women though they were unbelievers. Even in pre-Islamic days it was the custom that if a man struck a woman even with a stick or a stone, the revenge had to be taken by his sons and descendants."

"Do not fight against anybody unless he wishes to fight against you. .. Do not let the hatred and enmity of your opponents force you to a combat, do not begin a battle even if the enemy so desires unless you have explored every avenue of amity and good-will and have exhausted all the chances of a peaceful settlement."

'Ali b. Ibrahim from his father from Muhammad b. Abi 'Umayr from Ibn Idhaynah from Burayd al-'Inli from Abi Ja'far Muhammad b. 'Ali Al-Baqirع, he said on the saying of Allah 'Azawajal: "You are only a warner, and for every people is a guide - ar-Ra'ad:7", the Messenger of Allah ص is the warner and for every time period there is a guide from us guiding the people towards what the prophetص brought. The guide after the Prophetص is 'Aliع and then the A'immahع succeed him one after one. [al-Kafi]

'We said: O fire! be a comfort and peace to Ibrahim!' - [surah Al Anbya - The Prophets, chap 21,verse 59]

Jabir ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn Haram al-Ansari narrates from Imam Muhammad al-Baqir [a]: 'Before his martyrdom, Imam al-Husayn bin Ali [a] said to his companions: Indeed the Apostle of Allah [swt] said [to me]: O my dear young son, surely you will be led to ‘Iraq; it is a land where Prophets of Allah and Successors of the Prophets have met; It is a land called Amura. And indeed you shall be martyred there together with a group among your companions who would not sense the pain of the touch of iron. Then Imam al-Husayn [a] read the  verse: ‘O Fire, be cool and peaceful for Ibrahim’ [21:59]. The war will be cool and peaceful on you and them.'

Muhammad b. Musa narrated from 'Ali b. Ibrahim from his father from al-Nawfali from al-Sakowni from Abi 'Abillahع from his fathersع, he said: The messenger of Allahس one day passed by a man supplicating while he had his eyes facing towards the sky, so he said to the man: "Shut your eyes as you cannot see Him"

The Imamع then said: And the messenger of Allahع passed by a man supplicating while he had his arms raised towards the sky, so the prophetص said to him: "Lower your arms as you cannot reach Him". [al-Kafi]

*Paraphrasing a note on the Hadith from al-Kafi: "The reason why the prophetص rebuked the actions of these two men in the context of this Hadith was due to their false beliefs of actually being able to see Allah 'Azawajjal(eg. seeing Him in the Akhira as the nawasib  claim), and that Allahعزوجل is literally above His creation (another baseless claim made by the nawasibلعنهم الله)."

This thread should only have Ahadith from Imami Shi'i sources, and these Ahadith should serve to educate the reader on the teachings of the Ma'sumeenع. Any non-Imami reports, especially those that are polemical in their nature and conflict with Shi'i teachings can go anywhere else on the forum, but not here please. Thanks.
