This is a question by a member who wishes to remain anonymous.

Having a special medical wrapping around the ankles, the member could not wipe the top of his foot for wudhu all the way to the ankle joint. A relative told him just to wipe to the top of his foot, that it is not necessary to wipe all the way to the ankle joint. After some time he found out that his relative does not follow the same marja as he does. Are his previous prayers void and need to be repeated? He follows Ayatullah Sayyid Ali Khamenei.

(salam)

If it is not possible for him to temporarily remove the wrapping to make Wudu and wrap it again (I mean wheather it is harmful to him or he can not remove it due to some problems which may be arousen e.g. it is a plaster) he can perform Jabira Wudu, and that is: to put a clean and Tahir cloth or ... on the wound (if the wrapping is Tahir there is no problem with itself) and to wipe that cloth with his wet hand.

But if he can remove the wrappin (even if it causes some minor problems for him) he is not allowed to perform Jabia Wudu and he must remove the wrapping.

Salam.
