i didnt say its horrific. Its a bidah. It was not practiced by the holy prophet, his sahabas & the salaf & ur imams too. so keep whirling around without a clue.If u think the Prophet & his sahabas whirled in that way for the love of God than u need to consult a psychiatrist . Afterall we cant love Allah more than they did. End of the story.

Wait, wait, wait- there are actually people out there, Muslims who consider the celebration of our beloved prophet's (saaw) birthday a bidah? Really? Wow, there are strange 'Muslims' around... Well, all the Sunnis I know celebrate it. Who exactly doesn't?

Ibn Taymiyyah’s Opinion on Milad

He states, “And similarly what some people innovate by analogy with the Christians who celebrate the birth of Jesus , or out of love for the Prophet and to exalt him, and Allah will reward them for this love and effort, not on the fact that it is an innovation.”

He then states, “Some lawful acts and deeds contains goodness and also contains innovations and therefore that act become wicked and illegitimate because it goes against the teachings of the religion – just like hypocrites and open transgressors. Towards the end of time the majority of people will be affected by this. It is important to understand and remember two points here:

1) Instil in yourselves and your colleagues the ability to differentiate between apparent and hidden. Recognise goodness and evil and dislike evil.

2) As much as possible, invite people towards Sunnah. If you see that someone is embroiled in a sin and if you stop him then he will become embroiled in an even bigger sin then do not stop him as he will do something even worse if you stop him or he will forsake a compulsory or desirable deed and will be worse off.

If there is goodness in an innovation then present something better to the people because patients will not give up their medication until they find something better. No one should give up any goodness until they find something that is better and contains more goodness.”

He further goes on to say, “Some people celebrate and respect the Milad and claim that it is an honoured occasion and honoured season. There is great reward in this because of their good intentions in honouring the Prophet . As I have stated before, there are some deeds which are better for some people even though others may think of them as evil or bad innovations.”

Further on in the same text Ibn Taymiyyah mentions a fatwa given by Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, whereby when the people told Imam Ahmad about a prince who spent 1000 dinars on the decoration of a Qur'an he said: "That is the best place for him to use gold" – even though decorating the Qur’an in such a manner is undesirable according to Imam Ahmed’s rulings.

I don't know what kind of Islam you want to compare with. My islam is religion of sacrifice .. My Islam is religion of love ... My Islam is religion who Said " Salaam on you  and your ancestors "  ... My Islam is from those beggars who smiled when they got help from another muslim .... My islam is from those orphan who laugh and giggle when they got hands on there orphan head ... My islam is from Oppressed people voice ... My islam who said smile when you see other believers ... My islam is islam of Prophet Mohammad (saw) who love to forgive ... My islam is from Hazrat Ali (as) who scoled those of his army man who Insulted Enemy of Islam ( Muawiya ) ibn e Abu Sufiya ... In modern days birthday celebration of the Holy Prophet is a source of income for the mullahs & it gives a nice food for their fat tummies. 

 

U have failed to bring a hadith which shows that the mawlid was celebrated by the Prophet.

The Shaykh here is transferring his Hal (his spiritual state) to his mureeds.  The reason why some even fall down and are being effected physically is because of the power of the Hal is too overpowering for them.  In Nahjul Balagha we have an episode someone literally dies after hearing Imam Ali (as) describe the tawhid!  And if you watch the video they show links to certain proofs in hadith about "ecstasy" or "wajd".  

 

Having said this, this video does not represent "all of Sufism" but just certain orders.  There are many Sufi orders that do not do such practices.

Subhan Allah ! they say we should fast on the day of Ashura because it was a happy day for Jews !! But when it reaches to Muhammad PBUH birthday it becomes a Bidah and Haraam !!!

 

 وقد ظهر لي تخريجه على أصل آخر وهو ما أخرجه البيهقي عن أنس أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلّم عق عن نفسه بعد النبوة مع أنه قد ورد أن جده عبد المطلب عق عنه في سابع ولادته والعقيقة لا تعاد مرة ثانية ، فيجعل ذلك على أن الذي فعله النبي صلى الله عليه وسلّم إظهار للشكر على إيجاد الله إياه رحمة للعالمين وتشريع لأمته كما كان يصلي على نفسه لذلك فيستحب لنا أيضاً إظهار الشكر بمولده بالاجتماع وإطعام الطعام ونحو ذلك من وجوه القربات وإظهار المسرات

 

These are sentences of Suyuti, if you search it you can find it online. Suyuti says there is a Sahih hadith that Muhammad PBUH did Aghigha (it is a tradition that Muslims sacrifice a sheep or something after birth of their children) after his prophecy too, while Aghigha had been done for him already by his uncle when Muhammad PBUH was born. Then Suyuti says this is why it is good to gather and be happy and do something good on the birthday of Muhammad PBUH.

 

Moreover there is a Hadith in Sahih Moslem that Muhammad PBUH would fast on his birthday. On Mondays. 

 

حدثنا محمد بن الْمُثَنَّى وَمُحَمَّدُ بن بَشَّارٍ واللفظ لابن الْمُثَنَّى قالا حدثنا محمد بن جَعْفَرٍ حدثنا شُعْبَةُ عن غَيْلَانَ بن جَرِيرٍ سمع عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بن مَعْبَدٍ الزِّمَّانِيَّ عن أبي قَتَادَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ رضي الله عنه أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم سُئِلَ عن صَوْمِهِ قال فَغَضِبَ رسول اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال عُمَرُ رضي الله عنه رَضِينَا بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا وَبِبَيْعَتِنَا بَيْعَةً ... قال وَسُئِلَ عن صَوْمِ يَوْمٍ وَإِفْطَارِ يَوْمٍ قال ذَاكَ صَوْمُ أَخِي دَاوُدَ عليه السَّلَام قال وَسُئِلَ عن صَوْمِ يَوْمِ الإثنين قال ذَاكَ يَوْمٌ وُلِدْتُ فيه وَيَوْمٌ بُعِثْتُ أو أُنْزِلَ عَلَيَّ فيه

“Peace on me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!

The day Prophet Isa[as] was born was a special, as per 19:33. The day, Islam was completed, as a favour to Mankind [5:3], why wouldn't the day of birth of  the person who was tasked to bring this final revelation to mankind be a blessed day.

 

The day the Allah[swt] mercy to mankind was born [physical world]  could only be a day of sorrow and the remembrance of it, avoided and marketed as such, only by Iblis.

True Muslims,  are not idiots that they will confuse the Creator and the created, remembering/acknowledging/respecting/emulating/reverence of the Signs of Allah[swt] only brings us closer to Allah[swt].

 

"Lo! Allah and His angels shower blessings on the Prophet. O ye who believe! Ask blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation".[Qur'an 33:56]
