This was before Wahabism was able to penetrate almost every single nook and cranny. It seems they weren't able to completely brainwash the East Africans at that point in time.

Or maybe it is because these Africans were once ruled by the Fatimids who took mawlid as a religious ritual & than propagated it by its yearly celebration. The one's u call wahabis came eight centuries after the decline of the Fatimid caliphate.

The bidah is the anti mawlids. Celebrating the prophets birthday is celebrating the birth of Islam.

Did Sayyidna Ali ra celebrated the prophets birthday? Did ur other imams celebrated this day?

The Fatimids were great. The Wahhabis came and messed everything up.

No. But it is bida hasanat.

You're not shia, bringing in shia Hadith/arguments that you will not accept and ultimately dismiss, serves no purpose here. In fact let's face it, you'll ultimately veer this thread off topic by putting in a sly comment about zanjeer/matam, as you are known to do. Moving on, I am posting a link to an argument for the celebration of the prophets birthday by the Sunni-hanafi Shaylah, Dr. Tahir ul qudri, figuring you should probably alleviate the "bidah" of mawlid from your own sect or better yet sect subtype/psuedo type/however you call it, before you try to bring your arguments to another.

There is no such thing as ahsnat bidah. Evry bidah apparently seems good but it lead towards hell fire.

Oh  dear what an achievement! Tahir ul Qadri  L O L! Do u know how controversial this mullah is?

Let me tell u something kid. Since u r not from the Indo Pak sub continent. This Barelvi sect is fitnah & is spreading like  cancer in the region. It is identical to shia islam. Full of biddah's. The only diff bw u shias & them is wilayah & cursing & mutah. Everything else is the same. In short, shias in disguise.

Does that include tawaareeh prayers?

Taraweeh was offered during the lifetime of the Holy Prophet but separately. Than people started offering it in congregation. Do shias pray in the nights of Ramadhan? Yes they do. So that doesnt make any big difference.

I heard it is established that mustahab prayers cannot be prayed in congregation?

You're so pathetic, start off a response by calling someone a "kid"... So childish. While we are on the topic of kids, I would take this "sect" over the school children murdering crazied fanatic Islamic (hardly call it that) "mujahedin," that is your sect, invoker. The likes of Tahir ul qadri is a "cancer"? Well, Inshallah, this "cancer" as you call it takes over completely and ultimately eradicates the version of Islam that breeds thugs that think that it is "sunnah" to kill children. Ameeen. (I put an extra "e" in "Ameen" is that a bidah, too?) I am done here, once someone intiates insults, you know that they have nothing to contribute. Edited by kbsquare

What's the wahabbi definition for bid'a?

I think according to their definition, everything in the modern world is a bid'a

Only things like drinking wine with an american president or sword dancing with a british prince, or stabbing Gaza children from behind are not a bid'a.

These people are sickness

what kind of muslims you are... just try to stick to your dogma regardless what your books say and your scholar practice.

whenever shia present an argument proven through your books and what your scholars say you refute it by means of rejecting that book or scholar.

Who said its sunnah to kill children? Bring me a fatwa from a salafi scholar that it is sunnah to kill children. If u fail than u r a liar & liars go to hell! Laanat ullahi alal kazibeen. Ameen.

I heard it is established that mustahab prayers cannot be prayed in congregation?

This issue is related to fiqh. However Sunni scholars mutually agree upon the taraweeh prayers could be performed in congregation.

What's the wahabbi definition for bid'a?

1. In religious practice, everything is Biddah unless it is explicitly mentioned in the Quran & Hadith & is allowed.

2. In worldly matters, everything is allowed unless it is explicitly mentioned to be forbidden in Quran & Hadith.

Haha, I think I have just "invoked" the "invoker." Just to clarify if you read carefully I did not say that it was a sunnah among Salafi/wahabi types but I said it "breeds" thugs that think it's...so, I have nothing to prove here, open the world news.

Not very special. just the ordinary ones.

What makes something a religious practice?

If I'm happy for the birth of the Prophet (sa) and show this happiness, that's a religious practice?

If I make da'wa using the Internet, that is not a religious practice?

If the latter is not a religious practice then it means Allah will not reward those who make da'wa through Internet

If it is a religious practice, then it is not in the Qur'an and Hadith and thus, it is a bid'a

I don't run away, you're the one who intiated insults and referred to a whole group of Muslims as a "cancer" and said that they are Shia in disguise. You're the one using tactics here, you're classical tactic of blame everything and/or deduce everything to the likes of or fault of Shia. A Salafi houdini, that's what you pull.

which version of islam?

If you actually read the whole comment instead of bolding out what you like it is easy to understand which version of Islam I am talking about. You're in Pakistan, ask your local al Qaeda sheikh what version of Islam he believes he follows and if it isn't salafi/wahabbi come back here and continue to pout about. Edited by kbsquare

It is really sad when a "Sunni" criticizes Dr. Tahir Al Qadri for causing fitnah just because they think he is a closet Shia.

Tahir Al-Qadri is a true Sufi (and a true Sufi is a Shia) and you can see it from the noor on his face. Mashallah.

Look at the wahabi faces. Most of them make you sick. Truth is clear from falsehood.

What makes something a religious practice?

Anything that has been practiced by the Holy Prophet saw & his sahabas as part of Islamic teachings by his approval is a religious practice.

If I'm happy for the birth of the Prophet (sa) and show this happiness, that's a religious practice?

The Prophet saw did not celebrate his birthday, niether did his sahabas. In fact the celebration of birthday is a practice of the christian community. & there is a hadees which condemns those muslims who adopt the practices of other religions which in fact are not allowed in those religions too. Christians celebrate 25th december as the birth day of Jesus. Now muslims celebrate on 12th or 17th Rabi ul Awal.

If I make da'wa using the Internet, that is not a religious practice?

Making dua is a sunnah of the Holy Prophet. back than there was no internet. The niyyah is the same i.e to make dua. Only the mode of communication has changed.

Edit.

Brother I meant the saudi regime itself, that has banned celebration for the birthday of the Prophet (sa), yet feels free to drink wine and sword dance with main supporters of israel.

The double standard is at a governmental level, not between a secular and a fake, regime-made opposition.

saudi is the only country in the world in which Prophet's birthday celebration is banned.

Anyway, there's no real difference between salafi, wahabbi, saudi.

****

Niyya justifies everything?

Ok I have the niyya to spread the love of the Prophet (sa) using a new method which is birth celebration. After all, the Niyya is the same.

I am a sunni. I love Sayyidna Ali & his family but i dont believe in his wilayat. Ask ur scholars can i go to Jannah?

According to the rule "niyya is the same", Prophet's birthday celebration is a matter of niyya

Like making da'wa on the internet

Da'wa was made during the Prophet's lifetime. Back than people travelled on horses & camels to make da'wa. Now people can make it on the internet or any possible source of communication.

Bring me an authentic hadith in which the Prophet saw celebrated his mawlid or Sayyinda Ali celebrated it in his house with Fatima & children.

U r just making a fool out of urself by bringing lame arguments.

In the modern world, birthday celebrations are means for spreading the message (da'wa) and the love of the Prophet (sa).

Exactly like the internet as a means for da'wa.

Niyya is the same.

In modern days birthday celebration of the Holy Prophet is a source of income for the mullahs & it gives a nice food for their fat tummies.

U have failed to bring a hadith which shows that the mawlid was celebrated by the Prophet.
