Haaj Bassim karbalai praising Ayatollah Khamenei (ha) after many people, including myself slandered him by saying that Haaj Bassim al Karbalai slandered Ayatollah Khamenei (ha). These are clearly lies, as can be seen in the above video- we can see explanation of why it is all lies on these two links:

The video which those who want to cause divisions among Muslims where he supposedly attacks Ayatollah Khamenei is this:

if you actually look at it, there is 0 reference to Ayatollah Khamenei in the video, so we musn't ever fall into the traps of those who want us to be divided amongst ourselves.

I think the text is not appropiate for a latmiyya for Imam Hussayn as.How may paralyzed shias feel,when they hear it?

Also the "ilak,ilak" meaning "for you" (singular-form) who is he adressing? And the next sentence is about "them" who attack the "sha'air",aka tatbeer. And it is not his first latmiyya about marjas who are against tatbeer.

Very misunderstandable text,but no proof whatsoever.And when he says he doesn't mean Imam Khamenei h,then i can't say he does.

Question: What is the proper definition of 'backbiting'? Please, give some references from the Quran and Hadith also.

Answer: Backbiting means “speaking ill of a believer in their absence with the purpose of disparaging or not, and no matter whether the alleged shortcoming was related to his body, lineage, behaviour, deeds, statements, religion, or life, and other defects which are [usually] concealed from the people. Similarly, it does not matter whether the description was done by words or by gesture.”42

Almighty Allãh condemned backbiting in His noble Book and has described it such that mind and body feel abhorrence towards it. He said, “And some of you should not backbite the others: would anyone of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? No, you abhor it.” (49:12)

The Prophet (s.a.w.) said, “Be careful of backbiting because backbiting is worse than adultery, in that a person who commits adultery can repent and ask forgiveness from God, and Allãh can forgive him whereas Allãh will not forgive the backbiter until the person who was at the receiving end forgives him.”

That's very confusing. If i recall correctly, i had mixed responses on emailing ulamaa. Some said it's wajib to seek forgiveness from the person, some said not. From this book on al-islam greater sins:

 

 

As Ghiība is a greater sin anyone falling into it, is obliged to feel remorse for having disobeyed Allah (S.w.T.). After sincere repentance he must seek forgiveness, with the intention of never repeating it in the future. As mentioned in some of the traditions, if possible one must apologize to the person whose Ghiība he had done. He must beg him for forgiveness and somehow obtain his satisfaction. Also he must make up for it by speaking well of the person in proportion to the Ghiība he has committed with regard to this person.

This is more appropriate when the person is already dead and it is not possible to contact him. Or there is a good chance, the person will be more angry and would distance himself further. For example when he is ignorant of what was said about him and by hearing about the Ghiība he would be infuriated. The aim of seeking his forgiveness would not be achieved. In such cases we should ask Allah (S.w.T.)’s forgiveness for him and beseech Allah (S.w.T.) to make this person happy, as mentioned in the 39th Du’a of Sahifa Sajjadiya. It is also mentioned in the supplication of Monday.

You watched Mulla Bassim's video. He agreed to make the interview to explain that people were wrong to be upset with him and backbite him. When you made the translation of what he said, you have done what you could to remove the backbiting for English speakers. He doesn't want hundreds of people to knock on his door and ask forgiveness. I don't think he would want to be reminded of something he did that caused a lot of disunity in the community. He probably wants your dua.

For sure it is waajib to ask the one who you have slandered to forgive you, in addition to the other waajib deeds on the slanderer with regard to the slandered one.
