Ta'weel Of Surat Ash-Sharh

Can somebody provide me with Ahlul Bayt(a.s.)'s ta'weel of Surah no.94?

This has become my favorite chapter of the Qur'an, and I would really like to know the deeper meanings it contains, according to Ahlul Bayt(a.s.).

We have narrations that are explicit that it is through Ali [a] that our Prophet's chest is expanded and his back is strengthened.

 

عن سليمان قال : قلت لابي عبدالله عليه السلام : قوله تعالى : " ألم نشرح لك صدرك " قال : بعلي

I asked Abu Abdillah [a] about God's words 'Have I not expanded your chest for you'.  He said:  It is through Ali.

There are parallels between what Allah swt gives Prophet Muhammad in Surah 94 and what Nabi Musa [a] asks for in other places in the Quran.

 

In Surah 94 Allah swt says he has expanded the Prophets chest, and lifted a heavy burden off his back

 

In Surah 20, Nabi Musa [a] asks God to expand his chest and strengthen his back.  This is through his brother Harun [a].  (verses 25, 30, 31)

 

Interesting that Allah answers Musa's prayer through Harun.  And we know that Ali is our Prophet's Harun as per the famous hadith: You are to me as Harun is to Musa. 

 

Also interesting that Musa wanted Harun's eloquence (in surah 20, and also 26:13), and Imam Ali [a] gave us Nahjul Balagha.

I think another interesting note, is that Ali is the link of all sufi orders back to the Prophet, and it could be that teaching the higher spiritual truths took a certain type of tongue. And it could be that this spiritual initiation in the higher teachings of revelation, where entrusted to Ali, and that is why the wage of loving Ali was something God and the Prophet wanted during Mohammmad's time.

 

And this could be the saying "I am the city of wisdom, and Ali is it's gate". The companions of Mohammad (pbuh) who craved higher knowledge probably learned from Imam Ali during the time of the Prophet while the Prophet was more engaged in teaching the masses the basic message of Islam.

Are you allowed reciting this Surah by itself in Salah or must it be joined with the Surah after it? And anyone know the reason why if it's the latter?

It is interesting that for 94:7, Shakir has chosen to translate FANS'AB (root nun-sod-ba) as 'nominate'

 

Others translate it to 'labor hard' or 'worship hard', to that effect, as you may also check them in the quran corpus site.

Yusuf Ali         Therefore, when thou art free (from thine immediate task), still labour hard,
Pickthal           So when thou art relieved, still toil
Arberry           So when thou art empty, labour,
Shakir             So when you are free, nominate.
Sarwar            When you are free from (your obligations), strive hard (to worship God)
Khalifa             Whenever possible you shall strive.
Hilali/Khan       So when you have finished (from your occupation), then stand up for Allahs worship (i.e. stand up for prayer).
H/K/Saheeh    So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship].
Malik               Therefore, when you are free from your daily task, devote your time to the labor of worship[7]
QXP                Hence, whenever you are free from the immediate task, embark upon the next strife.

In the the daily obligatory prayers, one should recite Surah al-Hamd in the first and second Rak'ats, and thereafter one should, on the basis of precaution, recite one complete Surah. The Surah az Zuha and Surah Inshirah are treated as one Surah in namaz, and so are the Surah al-Fil and Quraysh.

Wow, bro. That's pretty deep. Never knew this Surah was talking about Imam Ali(a.s.). This is amazing!

I was also interested in knowing if there was a deeper meaning behind "Fa inna ma 'al 'usri yusra.".

That's probably my favorite verse.

That's interesting. But I don't know if the word "nominate" is entirely accurate in the Shia context. A nomination may be turned down, for it is just one of many. Still, I think it's good food for thought.

I dont know why. But bro i would recommend u look at a book called enlihtening commentary into light of quran maybe ull find the answer. Or look at ayatollah agha pooya tafsir. Or makarem.ir and find the tafsir
