Salaamun 'Alaikum,

I have MAJOR issues with this "Rapid Report", in it UMAA says Ayatullah Sistani (may Allah prolong his life) ENDORSES US and French airstrikes in Syria and Iraq.

Iraq’s top Shia cleric hails foreign aid against rebels
AsaianAge.com
Iraq’s most important Shia religious leader Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani endorsed international intervention against ISIS in the country in a Friday sermon delivered by a representative, following US and French airstrikes, but called for strict guidelines.

Not only is this a blatant lie but is dangerous act of disinformation. PRESS TV reported this same story differently:

Iraq's top Shia cleric, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, has advised the Iraqi government not to rely on foreign powers in fighting the Takfiri ISIL terrorists, one of his close aides says.

Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalai, who represents the senior cleric, made the remarks during a Friday prayers sermon in the holy city of Karbala.

According to Sheikh Karbalai, Iraq is in need of help from brotherly and friendly countries in confronting the Takfiri terrorists. [http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2014/09/19/379258/iraq-mustnt-depend-on-foreign-powers/]

IRIB had a similar story, "Iraq’s top religious authority, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, has recommended the Iraqi government not to rely on foreign powers in fighting the Takfiri ISIL terrorists, one of his close aides says." http://english.irib.ir/radioislam/top-stories/item/196253-iraq-mustn%E2%80%99t-depend-on-west-to-in-anti-isil-fight-grand-ayatollah-sistani

Both PRESS TV and IRIB reported the complete OPPOSITE of what UMAA's email said. The "brotherly and friendly countries" referred to by Ayatullah Sistani (may Allah prolong his life) is not US and FRENCH but is IRAN.

How do people sit back and watch this mockery without saying a word. Anyone with mental capacity of a peanut would know that Ayatullah Sistani would NEVER endorse the United States, a man who not once in his life met with US coalition forces during the Iraq war. If these sort of outrageous emails and spreading of misinformation does not seize right now, I can assure you brothers and sisters of conscience will take appropriate action.

Wa Salaam,
D

This is the same organization that invited Paul Wolfowitz to speak at their conference. So no big surprise. Most Shia who live in the US already know about this organization and don't take what they say seriously.

In Bob Woodard's book "Bush At War" he states that the US intelligence community had a Shiite Grand Ayatullah as an asset code named "The Pope" who supported the 2003 invasion. He states they paid his 2 sons substantial amounts of money for the support. The individual is not named.

So your comment about Rumsfeld's memoirs about the same war are interesting.

OR maybe the Western Propaganda machine knows how gullible Muslims are in general, that one suggestible lie, can cause the tribal, factional, prejudice, idiotic, stranded, branded, bankrupt, decayed, slackened, individuals to jump on the hate wagon.

According to Donald Rumsfield, in his Memoirs, Seyyid Sistani accepted a 200 million dollar from the US to issue rulings supporting the 2003 invasion.

Not sure if this is true or not.

According to Rumsfield, there supposedly was a some sort of secret communication between him and Sayid Sistani through Sistani's Wakeel in Kuwait. In other words, according to him, the Wakeel of Sayed Sistani in Kuwait who went by the name of "Jawad Al-Mahri", was an intermediary in the communication between him and the Sayed and who was given the 200 million US dollars in Kuwait by US officials to make the deal who eventually gave the money to the Sayed's two sons.

Strangely at the same time, there is no such Wakeel of Sayed Sistani in Kuwait who goes by the name of "Jawad Al-Mahri" as Rumsfield claims. In fact, his claim becomes further problematic and self contradictory when one discovers that the actual and official Wakeel of Sayed Sistani in Kuwait is Abu Qasim Al-Deybaji and at the same time the Imam of Masjid Zayn Al-Abdin in Kuwait. Al-Deybaji was famously recognized between the Shia's to be the only official Wakeel of the Sayed in Kuwait even before the fall of Baghdad in 2003 by coalition troops and there was no one else who held his position during that period, not the fictional Jawad Al-Mahri, or anyone else.

At the same time however, there is another recognized Shi'a authority in Kuwait who goes by the name of Muhamed Al-Mahri but not the same as the fictional Jawad Al-Mahri. His position in the Shi'a community in Kuwait is being the leader of the Shi'a Islamic council of Kuwait representing all the Maraji', but not specifically an official Wakeel of Sayed Sistani. Al-Mahri has denounced Rumsfield's claims and called them to be baseless lies and fabrications.

The point is -- they are two diverging report based on the same quote. Yet this organization chose to pick the report that is more favorable to their point of view even if it goes against Ayatullah Sistani ®.

This is there recommendaton to the US government:
