-- p.7 importance of other healthcare in combating Ebola (opine: remember the recommendation to get vaccinated for influenza to reduce false alarms and misdiagnoses).

"doctors without a cure" only care:

Note:: the WHO list of basic recommended medicines has lamivudine which as in post 143 and in the Wikipedia article combatted Ebola when given in the first 3 days.

There are also news items about the study of children and Ebola. Their symptomatic effects are sooner. Ages 15 and younger show more rapid on set of Ebola symptoms and effects. Dehydration is more pronounced.

In a research study in 1978 and 1979, there were people in Liberia who tested positive for Ebola antibodies, revealed in an article published in 1982. More reports from the 1980's reveal people in Sierra Leone and Guinea had been exposed to Ebola. It is stunning to read about these "forgotten reports."

I looked up immunofluorescence + Ebola

It is known that the West African Ebola-strain came from Zaire (I think that is above, somewhere).

Yet, the accurate test is RT-PCR and was then.

"Concerns" on accuracy were identified back then.

"positives" in the results fade quickly; Ebola-Reston was used in many studies

The "forgotten reports" is blamed on no Liberian authors in those reports, which are mostly German researchers.

People who survive the Ebola virus are suffering from "post-Ebola syndrome" with symptoms of clouded vision or blindness, "body aches" such as joint, muscle and chest pain, headaches and extreme fatigue. Not to mention psychological problems. People who survive the virus are shunned and suspected of being witches. :donno:

People who miraculously survived the Ebola virus are suspected of passing the virus. A BBC correspondent in Sierra Leone reports that a 16-year-old girl has been diagnosed with the deadly Ebola virus in northern Sierra Leone's Bomabli district, which had gone for 169 days without a case, and the initial suspicion is that she got Ebola after having sex with a survivor of the illness, but this has not yet been confirmed.

The latest fatality is a 16-year-old who died on Sunday in Bombali district, about 150 miles northeast of the capital, Freetown, according to a statement from the National Ebola Response Center issued Monday.
A swab from her body tested positive for Ebola, but the source of the infection is unknown, the statement said.
The village where she died has been placed under quarantine.

In a WHO program, people dead and with EVD symptoms swabbed or blood tested under a "surveillance strategy" found 964 in Guinea, 2248 in Liberia and 1282 in Sierra Leone.

@Tabaybay The West African Ebola Virus Disease outbreak was at its peak in 2014 and began to wane in 2015. The outbreak was declared over on January 14, 2016.

The reason why I ask is because when the outbreak first started that's all the media could talk about. And then one day it just stopped. At the time I honestly thought it was a means to incite fear among people and to overshadow something bigger that was going on. It is a deadly virus I'm aware but sometimes the media blows something or someone so out of proportion I get suspicious about what's happening that they're trying to hide
