Is This Weird?

I am a 20 year old man living in London:

 

I love covering myself with as much clothing as I can wear.

 

When I go to Uni I wear my long traditional Islamic dress, wear a long coat and I try to cover my head too.

 

If I ever wear jeans, I cover myself with a long coat, unless its summer.

 

I am even considering wearing a black turban when I go out, walking in London with a turban.

 

And I also hate t-shirts, shirts, jeans and pants, I like old fashioned loose cloths which cover entire body and shape.

 

Other young men around me like jeans and t-shirts and like to show some skin but I hate showing skin.

 

From now, I am considering ditching jeans forever, or pants and wearing long Afghan peran thamban with a turban. Is this weird?

 

Would people find it weird or interesting and is it good and allowed to wear such clothing in London?

If you feel that's the only thing you want to wear, you're comfortable with and most importantly does not go against the Shari'a, then wear it. Don't be concerned about how others will view and think of you.

Well in that aspect we are the same.

 

I like simple and convenient clothing, you must know Shalwar kameez, and

 

stay away from jeans etc untill very necessary. My entire university life i went to classes in shalwar kameez.

 

In college life White Shalwar Kameez was the uniform, with black sherwani for Winters.

 

As for the weirdness you need to consider the surroundings, and the fact that how does your dressing

 

affect your personal repute among your peers and teachers. Some teachers are just dumb you know.

Wearing a turban around is a little weird. But wearing long, modest clothing is great!

 

I'm also not a fan of traditional clothing in the West. Why not dress smartly, with trousers and a long coat? Or a shirt/jacket in the summer?

Whilst I'm also a big fan of traditional clothing, there is also a time and a place. Imam al-Sadiq Úáíå ÇáÓáÇã is reported to have said the best clothing is the clothing of the people of your time.

 

You should maybe reserve the more traditional clothing for the mosque, and dress more as bro Wizdom recommended.

 

I did want to mention a point about 'fitting in with the rest society' but that would probably take the discussion in a different direction, even though it isn't always a negative thing.
