You know, some of the picks are really funny, but as I have loved India (and Pakistan) all my life, and since my childhood wanted to visit it, these pictures also break my heart.

Are you sure that the people who laugh at these picks are not sitting comfortably in the rich West, with a laptop and a Coke in front of them, and laughing at poor people, who are only trying to earn some money to feed their children...

Not very Islamic, do you not think?

Wow. That's very accurate actually. I'm sitting on my bed with my laptop in front of me, drinking a root beer.(In the west)

(salam) brother,

See? What did I tell you?

But seriously, I feel very protective and oversensitive about some issues - before I came to my rich and peaceful Switzerland, I was utterly poor, hungry and cold in Damascus, and lost a child for not having enough money for a doctor...

And as I said, I have loved the subcontinent, it's culture, languages, art, people, food - you name it, for as long as I can remember, so no offending or ridiculing that part of the world in front of me, please!

Kindest regards,

Amina

I appreciate your concern and agree that people living a life of hardship and trial shouldn't be made fun of but I think these pictures, like all other pictures specific to a country, reveal a side of the people who didn't know before.

As they say necessity is the mother of invention, to me, these pictures are a testament to the problem solving abilities of these people. With very little they have managed to put together things which otherwise a person in normal circumstances would never think of. I mean, look at this car-like thing with all sorts of parts assembled to make it work. It's the work of a genius, only poor.

Well, we're not exactly dying over here either. I am sitting infront of a laptop, a fanta in my hand. I don't like coke and my maid refilling it for me. :p

Hats off to the parents who named their son Napoleon Einstein!

What more can you want for your child?

That he should be an emperor and also the greatest mind in the world - all rolled into one?

There is no example in history of an emperor with such an exceptional brain or a man of extraordinary wisdom in such high office.

Good luck, lad.

May your parents' wishes come true.

Apparently, he also plays cricket.
