Alhamdulilah, I dont have any spots or scars on my face,,its generally clear but my face and skin complexion is extremely dull, its lost the natural "glow" for a long time now i have to depend on using various products to avoid looking like i just woke up. I see many sisters who have the natural glow without using putting any chemicals , even if their face would be full of spots/scars. Was wondering if you could please recommend any creams that would help remove the dullness? I know that dior sell this mousturizer called "dream skin", its a bit expensive and im not too keen on spending on it unless im sure it works.

Have you tried any home made masks and scrubs? This site has a few, maybe give them a go  http://www.stylecraze.com/articles/simple-home-remedies-for-glowing-skin/

I've noticed water makes a huge difference to my skin, so drink a lot of water if you're not already.

(Salam),

I know exactly what you mean. I too use products for that special glow. Like labailYaZahra said, water does help with skin. What helped my skin so much that I can't do anymore is exercising. My face that that glow all the time because how much water and fruit/vegetable I consume. Now I could longer do that. I use products, such as Clinique. I feel that brand i the best for me.

Pearl, it call has to do with diet and what you put in. Evaluation what you eat and then go for there. Find out what fruits and vegetable that is meant for skin.

Good luck,

DC

You might want to try an illuminating radiance cream. Just like a regular moisturiser but with light reflecting particles to make your skin glow.

I like this one but you can find even cheaper ones or more expensive.

Try salat al- lail as well as it is supposed to brighten your face with noor :)

Your skin is a reflection of your health.

Healthy glow comes from what is going on inside your body - so do healthy things for your skin:

  • hydrate your tissues - drink water throughout the day
  • eat lots of fruits and vegetables - for hydration, vitamins and fibre
  • exercise everyday - increased oxygen and blood circulation for your skin cells - also yoga which helps maintain balance and alleviate stress
  • dont smoke anything - reduces necessary oxygen flow to cells (and also there are also those nasty carcinogens which aren't a good thing)
  • stay out of the sun or add a hat with a brim of some kind and use sun screen. Use sun screen with titanium dioxide in it for outdoor activities like skiing or when on a boat or near the water, as the reflection from the sun can be quite strong.  For extended times outdoors, I use http://www.garnier.ca/_en/_ca/sun/sun-ombrelle-face/Ombrelle-Face-Cream-SPF60.htm

Then, for your face:

  • exfoliate twice a week - gets rid of dull dead skin cells
  • use a mild foaming face wash and toner, twice daily, to keep pores clear - so that you don't get clogged pores
  • use a light moisturizer morning and night, preferably one with a sun screen.

I use Clinique and get a good result (for sensitive skin) http://www.clinique.com/cms/product/3step_grid.tmpl

I just looked at the site recommended by labaikYaZahra: http://www.stylecraze.com/articles/simple-home-remedies-for-glowing-skin/  to find the homemade facial scrubs - they look great btw - check them out - and, I also found this at the bottom of the page, about food choices for healthy glowing skin.

Healthy Food for Glowing Skin:

A healthy diet is very important for your body and skin Fresh fruits and vegetables are a storehouse of vitamins and minerals that are important for our body.  Try to include them in your daily diet for a younger and glowing skin.

1. Vitamin A rich foods like papaya, carrot, green leafy vegetables etc.

2. Vitamin C rich foods such as lime, amla, oranges, guava, spinach, etc facilitate in collagen production.

3. Whole grains, cereals, almonds, walnuts are very rich in Vitamin E, which makes our skin soft, silky and supple.

4. Banana is a good source of iron, magnesium and potassium. It also helps to reduce menstrual cramps.

5.  Carrots contain large quantities of beta- carotene which is converted into vitamin A by the body. Vitamin A rejuvenates the skin and also helps fight wrinkles.

Wow I'm been doing all that without me knowing it.
