Clearly, these people don't know about the atrocities he has caused in Iraq. May Allah ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáì never forgive the oppressors.

Actually manyh of these types are fully aware of such crimes but don't care  They justify such actions in their own twisted logic.

At this point saddam (god curse him) has become a symbol for many people to represent Arab-sunni "resistance" against iranians and shias.

Also their history is ripe with historical revisionism, and turning criminals in to great leaders. Their religion is very simple, and in turn they are simple minded people. Every thing can be forgiven with just a few words, and throwing some money around.

Saddam is the best example of this in modern times (although like i said their history is ripe with such examples). Saddam was a butcher and when to extravagant lengths in his crimes against people and against Allah (swt) - such that very few in all the history of humanity rival him.

Yet despite that  (and despite the well known nature of his crimes to the entire world), their leaders and "scholars" all around the world praised him as a shaheed and a great leader etc, because he built some masajid in iraq and donated money to various arab causes.

These are the roots of bani ummayah still deep in their minds. Muawyah committed an abundance of crimes, but just using a few fake ahadeeth and building some masjids and claiming he was doing it in name of Islam, he fooled the whole nation.

These people have become accustomed to dictator and tyrant - one after the other all ruling in the name of Allah for 14 centuries, usually with the implicit or explicit support of the religious establishment. So now it is ingrained in their mind and accpted that their leaders will all be seeped in corruption and killing, and that all of that can be forgiven because they were political necessities, and at the end of the day the person (in this case saddam) said the shahada - and built masajid and crushed the rawafidh.
