Salaam to all.

Has there been any compilation of hadiths which both Shia and Sunni agree upon ?

Salamun alaykum. Shia and Sunni scholars have different criteria for regarding a hadith as authentic. Besides, in most cases, Sunni narrators may not be considered as reliable by Shia scholars and Vice Versa. Therefore, logically, you can not find many common collections of hadith between Shia and Sunni schools of thought.

However, there are  few Sunni collections of hadith which are also highly regarded by Shia scholars. One such a book is Kanz al-'Ummal by al-Muttaqi al-Hindi (d. 975 or 977 AH).

BTW, based on Shia viewpoint, no collection of hadith (even the greatest among them like al-Kafi) is not regarded as 100% authentic; rather, for each narration, the chain of narration should be evaluated in detail.

There are many many common hadiths. Too much to list here of course.

Salamun alaykum. The question is about collections of hadith not single hadiths.

I think that will be best hadith book for all muslims.

if we dont have any such book, some body should seriously compile it ASAP.

No we don't, especially seeing as there exists a narration which say that no one lied against the Prophet like Anas ibn Malik, Abi Hurayra, and Aisha (Kitab Al-Khisal), and these are major narrators for Sunnis.

That would be a great idea though i wonder how many hadith we will end up having! Most ethic hadiths are shared, many pivotal ,vital hadiths are shared as well.

We should keep in mind that hadith was interchangeably shared between Muslim sects before Mutawakkil declared Bukhari as the official sunni hadith book, all other hadith books should be compared to it in terms of correctness.

By the way, do Shias believe in this hadith ? Or is there any hadith that is similair to this one in the four hadith books of Jafri sect  ? -

Dawud :: Book 40 : Hadith 4579, Narrated by Abu Hurayrah (Yes, I know the Shia stance on him. Still, just asking a question) :

The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: The Jews were split up into seventy-one or seventy-two sects; and the Christians were split up into seventy one or

seventy-two sects; and my community will be split up into seventy-three sects.

Salamun alaykum.

Salamun alaykum, This hadith has been mentioned in both Shi'i and Sunni collections of hadith. Since it has been widely transmitted it is regarded mutiwater content-wise (meaning that the wording is not the same in all narrations but the content is the same). Therefore, most Shi'i and Sunni scholars have relied on it. Beside tawatur (which is a reason for a hadith to be authentic), there is at least one sahih chain of narration in Shi'i collections of hadith. It has been mentioned by Kulayni in al-Kafi, vol. 8, p. 224:

Bismillah

Shaykh Ray-Shahri, patron of 'Daru l-Hadith institute (Qum)' has included many ahadeeth from Sunnite sources in his book 'Mizaan al-Hikmah'. That might be something close to what you are looking for. However I'm not aware of a collection of hadith that purely aim to include traditions accepted by both factions.

Even if we have similar ahadith in some of our books, the fact remains that our interpretations will at most times be different (as they are for some of the hadith the brothers have mentioned above). That's not a problem, since even amongst the same schools there are differences in interpretation, but that being said, a lot more has to be done if the goal is something as big as global unity amongst Muslims.
