Pregnancy Outside Of Marriage

My dear fellow Muslims,

 

i have a question regarding what one should do if one gets a female (Non-Muslim) pregnant outside of marriage (even without Muta).. 

 

Does the child need to be aborted?

Does the father leave?

Is the child raised according to the mothers faith?

Do I marry the female?

 

By the way i am only asking because it is a genuine question that i have wondered.

Is this question hypothetical or real-life?

No, the child should not be aborted. Abortion is haram unless the mother's life is in danger by the pregnancy and even if her life is endangered by it, haram after about 12 weeks.

The father has no rights over the child and the child will be known by his mother's name, but the man is still obligated to provide support.

A Muslim would never consent to his child being raised without knowledge of Islam.

The question about marriage would include too many factors for it to be answered hypothetically. As far as I know, if she is a believer even if non-Muslim, you can marry her, but what should be done depends on circumstances.

So like you said that the father has no right over the child then would that mean the only thing the father would be able to do is raise it as a muslim?

I'm glad it is hypothetical!

Honestly, I don't know the details of the obligations and rights. The child would not inherit from his father and he wouldn't be allowed to lead communal prayer. It is a grave injustice by the parents against the child.

If the father leaves ofcourse mothers faith

its for the best you marry here if shes a people of the book ( ahle kitab) so christian or jew

otherwise she must convert first

This is when a man does zina with a married women. If she divorces her husband later, the man whom she did zina with still can't marry her.

What I find interesting is the rulings on zena-offspring (i.e. they cannot lead prayer), and the fact that people will still go through with it, regardless of the risks.

How is it the fault of the child though?  Why should a child be punished the sins of their parents?

I don't know the reason behind this rule, but it isn't meant to be a punishment.

As I said before, parents who choose to do this have done the child a terrible injustice.

I would like to add...abortion rates for unwanted pregnancies in Japan are presumably not low, but this is not ascertainable to to under-reporting of abortion procedures by doctors (tax issues).  There is actually a shrine in Japan for aborted, miscarried, and lost children. 

 

Anyways...how is that directly related to the OP's questions?

I know lol but even the hypothetical scenario is distressing. I always wondered how they deal with it? It must be very difficult to feel so cast out because of something you had no hand in.
