Shia In Birmingham

Assalam Alaykum

I am a British Convert and want to investigate Shia Islam to decide which path I would prefer to take. I will be visiting the shia mosques over the next few weeks inshallah. I am planning to go at maghrib today to the Al Mahdi Insitute and Idaara Maarif-e-Islam since they are near each other. I will also try and visit KSIMC Birmingham this week inshallah. I will like to acquire some books and make some shia friends, preferably some who are knowledgable so we can look at proofs and learn etc and also attend talks, look at resources and such like. I will also like to socialise with some shia, maybe have some food, attend various events, conferences and just generally learn more.

If anyone is able to, please do come to the idaara maarif e islam mosque at maghrib, I will be praying there and will be thewhite convert. I am a 26 year old professional.

I would like to visit a bookstore that has some shia literature and if anyone has some books they dont want, I would also appreciate that. I read somewhere that there is a shia translation of the qur'an, due to verses such as the verse when abu bakr and the prophet were in a cave, shia interpret these ayaat differently to sunnis, and other verses as well. If anyone has a shia translation it would be helpful since I have only read sunni tafseers so far.

Anyone who can help me with my journey please do message me, or if you are in birmingham meet me. If you are in anothre british city and feel the shia activity there is sufficiently active that it is worth me travelling, I am also willing to do so inshAllah, as I dont know where the major shia communities are in the UK

Jazak Allah
