Salamun Alaykum. Habib ibn Muzahir al-'Asadi was born 1 year before Bi'that (beginning of Prophet's mission) and therefore, he was 24 years old when the Holy Prophet (pbuh) passed away. According to some history books, he, along with his family, migrated from Yemen to Medina in 9 AH (i.e. about 2 years before the demise of the Prophet). There are various ideas as to the proper defenition of a sahabi (companion) of the Prophet. Regardless of the definition, since Habib ibn Muzahir has not narrated any narration from the Prophet (or at least, there is no such narration quoted in collections of hadith) some scholars have numerated him among tabi'in (those who witnessed the companions) and have not considered him as a companion. Among such scholars, mention should be made of Shaykh Tusi who in his Rijal, pp. 60, 93 and 100 has named him in the category of those who have narrated from Imam Ali (as), Imam Hasan (as) and Imam Husain (as). However, some other scholars have called Habib ibn Muzahir a companion of the Prophet such as ibn Kalbi (see. Samawi, Absar al-'ayn fi Ansar al-Husain, p. 126) and the well-known Sunni scholar, ibn Hajar 'Asqalani in his Al-'Isaba, vol. 2 p. 142).

^ Thanks bro that helps a lot , you don't have to narrate from the Prophet to be considered a companion as many of badris didn't narrate a single hadith that we know of and since the generology expert like ibn Kalbi and ibn hajar consider him sahabi I believe that is convincing enough proof
