Imām Muhammad ibn ‘Alī al-Bāqir (A.S.) said: "On Ashura Day, before noon, he should go to a desert or an elevated portion of his house and recite salutations to Imam Husain (a.s.), curse his killers excessively and pray two Rakats prayers. Then he should mourn and lament over Imam Husain (a.s.), order everyone in his house to lament him, hold a gathering in his house narrating Imam Husain’s tragedies and become restless on the tragedies of the Imam (a.s.), meet one another weeping and consoling one another over the Imam’s tragedies. If they do so, I guarantee that the Almighty Allāh will record all of those rewards for him.

Meet one another with sorrow not with a smile..

If God forbid, if somebody close to u dies, then will u meet people with a smile or grief ? It is as simple as that..

Obviously it is not haram but when we look at Nasrallah, he is our ideal and much more closer to Imam Husain than anyone of us..So he should set an example of how we should behave on Ashura..So if he can smile and wave then i think we also can do the same...

Ok, but if you think about it, in the larger scheme of things, how much does a brief smile matter really? He arrives at a place where thousands of people are shouting in support and respect for all he's done, and he can't smile? There are plenty of lectures around the world where scholars describe the greatness of the Ahlulbayt and such personalities, and people smile etc. There are much larger issues to be concerned about, we shouldn't get distracted.

He's done a lot of actual hard work where needed, defending Lebanon from Israeli attacks, making Arabs proud (Hezbollah is the only Arab army to stand against the Israeli terrorists), helping the cause of Shia Islam and Muslims generally.

He could be following that hadeeth fully when meeting people other than in this event, let's give him some credit.

So if he smiled?

Sayed Nasrallah griefs for Imam Hussein more than anyone because he knows the path and walks to this path while other Shia sit do nothing and decide to criticize.

May Allah help you folks
