90,000 Veils Between Allah And His Creation

Rate this topic

Jibra'il continued by saying, "Between Allah and His creations, there exists 90,000 layers of concealment and the closest of creations to Allah are Isra'fil and myself; and between Allah and us exist four veils: Light, Darkness, Cloud and Water.

From Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 18, p. 327, Bab 3 - Ithbaat al-Mi`raaj wa ma`anaahu wa kayfiyyatuhu wa sifatuhu wa ma jaraa feehi wa wasf al-buraaq, Hadith 34.

I hope some of you take this into consderation and move up away from this blindness

(salam) brother Syed

Ayatollah Bahjat (qas) was asked a similar question- what is required for one to be among the "mukhliseen". His reply- perform the actions which are required of the mukhliseen!

There is no magic formula or amal- everything is already there for us. I.e. one can follow the book Mafatih al Jinan to become of the mukhliseen, all of the resources are available for us, and this applies to my dreadful soul before all others, inshallah we can all reach such states- here is a recent thread to help you akhi, and to help us all : http://www.shiachat.com/forum/topic/235019198-worship/

Please keep us in your dua

How does one go about removing these veils ?

Reduction of sin ?

Salat, Fasting, doing and hastening to All that which  pleases Allah and brings you closer to Allah.

Reduction of sin ?

fasting actually really only benefits us

salat also benefits us, but allows us to feel good about giving the right to God that is His right in bowing down and acknowliging His greatness and His being High and His being the great etc

reduction of sin helps you also, because it saves you from the trap doors of hell and from the fire of Hell which burns us even here inside us

in the process of doing all of this, you remove the veils between you and God, these veils which blind us to His attributes

once the veils are removed a person feels like nothing he/she does takes away from God such as doing evil and nothing he /she does adds to God such as praying to Him does not make Him MORE great because he is already so Great and already the MOST proud so you cannot make Him MORE proud or more HIGH because he is already so High on HIs own

all of these acts makes you love Him more because you get to know Him, but this feeling of longing of love for Him, also feels miserable because you just want Him and to be with Him and all your attention to Him

anything else that makes you distance yourself from Him bothers you and even hurst you, and hence you stay away from life unless absolute necessity or the devil misleads you

Salamo Aleykom!

Ya Ali!

Interesting topics here. Yukapuka... tell some more about the first veil or the first part which you called the hardest one. And I want others here to share their "feelings experiences" by different azkaar. Specially the zikr of "La Ilaha Illallah"...

Will wait for reply

What you say about the attributes of Allah is in Aqaed lessons; in books, and it is good you pointed to it, but the thing is one is near Imam Mahdi a lot or not... If with marifah you mean knowing/recognition than should we not have it first about the Imam of our time Allah will may He come soon. Do we need any study in field of the concept of infallibility in this way. Stuff you refer to and write mostly is on irfan and sayr wa suluk not ethic-falsafaye akhlaq - and moral-ilm akhlaq -. Say wa suluk and tazkiya and iran amali is like being in operation room and than icu until you get cured and akhlaq is about moderatness that is going to the hospital and give the necessary permissions for the surgeon to cure you. Maybe you only need some medication and no surgery lo. Religon is three parts: Aqaed; Fiqh and AKHLAQ.
