Salam aleikum,

Is it me or the usual "What day is Eid in Switzerland for Sistani followers", "What you doing this Eid", or just the avalanche of Eid Greetings has disappeared from SC ?

Back a few years ago, the eve of Eid was like full of electricity on the forums, people asking lots of questions, who is celebrating with who, posting pics of their moms' Eid dishes etc...

Aren't we interested in this aspect of religion anymore, or rather are we more and more focused on fitna and politics ? :donno:

Anyway, Eid Mubarak to everyone !! May Allah bless you and your families and I hope one day we will meet around jabal Arafat !

:D

Eid is nothing to look forward to nowadays sadly... Just arguments about when it is, etc.

So much wrong with the world as well. How can we celebrate... :( .

how can we be happy when the imam (af) is in ghayba and the shia are dying all over the world..? its not the same as before.

Exactly my thoughts.

The more I learn and aspire to be closer to Allah, the more I understand that happiness would be near impossible for me. And I am not blowing off steam or trying to seem "religious". It is actually nowhere near religious, it is more of a spiritual development. But let me say this before people start attacking me: To each his own. I do not care if people find happiness in life, it is their life they should be able to decide what they want to do. But wallah, think about it for a bit.

I totally agree wallah, and im in the same boast as you, the spiritual development makes you celebrate eid in a different way. appreciating and reflecting upon the sacrifice of Ibrahim (as) yet reflect upon the shia dying and remembering our beloved imam (af). im not against people who find happiness in life or in eid. but, happiness (to me) should be left for another time than now..

I know, it's true we shias have always suffered but Allah knew that would happen but still He prescribed Eidein as obligatory holidays for all muslims by Allah.

Even Prophet Muhammad (sawas) knew about the death of Imam Hussain and still celebrated Eid, congratulated people, etc...

Maybe it is our duty, even with all that sadness and injustice to keep our faith positive.

This Eid is good, my and my Sunni friends are on the same day, no more awkward Eid texts, I can truly feel it while I extend my greetings.

Incha Allah this kind of problem will disappear when fitna amongst sunni/shia will stop and we learn to accept one another as plural muslims.

More them than us actually ;)

In Sahifa-e-Sajjadia,  Abdul ibn Denar has narrated from Imam Zain-l-Abadeen (as) that Imam (as) said: Oh! Abdullah, either it is Eid-ul-Zaha or Eid-ul-Fitr of Muslims, it should refresh the grief and sufferings of Ahlulbayt (as) (Abdullah asked), how it is? Because it makes one realise that our Divine right has been usurped by our enemies.

In another tradition it is narrated that an angel was heard praying, ‘Allah (azwj) may not enable you to observe Fasts and Eids’, Imam Jafar-e-Sadiq (as) said: 'by Allah (azwj), as a result of the angel’s ‘prayer’, these people will never ever be able to observe Eid, neither now nor  in the future, until the day the ‘Revenge-Taker’ takes the revenge of Imam Hussain (as)'s (innocent) blood from them.' - Manla yadhurul faqih, vol. II

Fasts AND Eids ? Would an angel pray for that ?

So what happened to the angel's prayer about fasting ?

offcourse eid is celebrated, congratulate people, take the day off etc. but many people are doing it with laughter and happiness whilst a little shia child is suffering.

and the prophet (saw) did do all that but was he laughing all day, getting new clothes for his kids?

my point is eid offcourse ! is c celebrated but with respect to the shia who are dying every day.
