What is the main reason that the majority of the Muslim terrorist belong to Sunni sect? I'm very curious. One of my friend told me that some of the companions left a legacy(Such as Umar attacked Persia and committed a Persian genocide when he converted them into Islam) and their teachings are extremist teachings. Is it true? If so, please go in-depth for detailed knowledge on their legacy. Thanks a lot brothers.

Sunni? Please don't say sunni. May Allah guide you.

Who are they than? Do they not belong to Sunni sect? Or they belong to Shia sect? Please enlighten me.

Because they're under the assumption that they will get 72 virgins when they die?

Lol come on lets be realistic. It is not just that. It is definitely got to do with some teachings and historical amounts.

Ahlul bayt followers eg Sayed Hassan Nasrallah,Imam Khomeini, Imam Khamenai, Sayed Ali sistani etc - They almost resemble the ahlul bayt.due to the teachings, sayings, virtue from the pure household

Other schools in Islam Resemble whoever they follow

The fault lies in their teachings. They are always in eager to get Jannat in a short cut. For them to get Jannat in a short cut is Jihad.

So for them Jihad is to go and do some killings.........kill one shia and get 72 Virgins plus house in the colony of Prophets (as).

This offer could attract any one.........:)........that is why there are lots of Jihad shops open and virgins are being sold (especially in Syria)

The above statement is true only for Wahabi not for Sunni......Sunni if becomes Wahabi will definitly become a Terrorist

السلام عليكم

It all has to do with extremism.  The Sunni sect tends to be more rigid and legalistic in nature.  Likewise, the Shi`a sect tends to be more emotional and passionate in nature.  Extremes in both cases can cause issues.  If one goes towards the extreme in the Sunni sect, they tend to start viewing things as black and white in order to express their legalism.  You are either with us or against us.  And if you're against us, your blood is halal for us.  Likewise, if one goes towards the extreme in the Shi`a sect, they tend to elevate the status of the Imams and participate in many bid`aa in order to express their passionate emotions.  It's not so much that most "Islamic" terrorists are Sunnis, it's that most "Islamic" terrorists take Sunniism to the absolute extreme.

There is a difference between a wahabi and sunni.

I don't consider the extreme terrorists as sunnis. If they aren't wahabis, Allah knows what they are.

Bro I don't think you should consider or not consider something if those people themselves consider themselves something. Wahabis or Salafis, both consider themselves as Sunnis and in Pakistan, Sunni terrorist from different fiqh has been caught, not just wahabi and salafis.

Unfortunately, when Sunnis get deep in their religion, and begin following the teachings of Umar and Abu Baqir, etc.. They become extreme and wahhabi-like.

If you don't mind, can you please expand on teachings of Umar, Abu Baqr and etc or provide me any links where I can read it. That'll be very helpful.

Majority of the attacks are carried out by the wahabist so we cant really blame the average sunni for the attacks.

What about Salafis? They've carried out many attacks in Syria

OP - because Sunni religion is based on  terrorism and killings. If they are not fighting their external enemies, they fight between themselves.

Exactly what I was thinking, Taliban Sunnis in Pakistan have killed many of their own Sunni brothers by blowing up themselves.

Among Shias, Wahhabi is another name for Salafis even though the two are not technically the same.

Salafi = one that tries to emulate the salaf (first 3 generations of Muslims).

Wahhabi = one that follows the teachings of Abd al-Wahhab

Because of the people they follow. Look what they did to Imam Ali (a.s).

What can you expect from people like this.

I was posting on another forum that I won't name and I'm pretty sure just by signing up there I'm now on a terrorist watch list. :(

I've noticed some common factors among those who are radicalized: young, unmarried, & broke.  You can't sell this "jihad/radical salafi" idea to someone who has a life. Which is one reason it is so easy for them to recruit incarcerated young black men.

Because 99% of Muslims are Sunni's. Shia's have committed suicide bombings on Israeli's. As if this religion makes a person any more peaceful...

Ever heard of daily bomb blasting in Iran, a Shia majority? Or heard that in Sunni majority Pakistan? What about beheading culture? In a Sunni majority, everyone lives in fear unless it is a Shia government. Sunnis have no tolerance towards people from different beliefs.
