Advanced Member Likeaflower Posted July 27, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 27, 2013 Okay what if I get into a state of Janabat and want to go do ghusl but my father has forbidden me to shower in the night and tells me to do it in the morning but by then Fajr will have passed and fasting time will have begun. What do I do in a situation like this?
Advanced Member Zaynab McCabe Posted July 27, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 27, 2013 Is your father Muslim? If so does he know to why you need a shower?

Advanced Member *Sayyeda* Posted July 28, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 28, 2013 (salam)^ That sounds like an awkward conversation. OP, why don't you address why you aren't allowed to shower at nights in the first place and try and convince him otherwise. Or as suggested, talk to your father. If neither of them are viable options, do not let yourself to get into a state of Janabat as your fasting and fajr prayers are obligatory. Veteran Member Ibn al-Hussain Posted July 28, 2013 Veteran Member Report Share Posted July 28, 2013 (salam)If wasting water or making a lot of noise is an issue, don't use the shower head. Try to use just a jug of water or two; it is possible to do ghusl with that amount and you will save a lot of water as well. Otherwise, I'm not sure what difference it makes to shower at night versus just a few hours later (in most countries the difference between "night" and "Fajr" isn't that long now a days). ImAli
What do I do in a situation like this? Just go take a shower, when you get out tell him you had to wash the blood off for fajr (don't tell him janabat)...............say it in a dead monotone voice as you are walking away and ignore his screaming or fit pitching that he might do......then give him the silent treatment. Advanced Member lalala123 Posted July 29, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 29, 2013 I'm confused. Is the OP married and that is how she is getting into a state of janabat? If so, and the dad is muslim, then surely he should understand the situation. And if OP isn't married, how is she getting into janabat? Is OP a man or woman? What is going on?
