Why Sunnis Love The Enemies Of Prophet (So Much)

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Sunni Brothers,

I've a question, please don't get angry or start cursing. This is just a question, I really want to learn.

Why Sunnis love the known enemies of the Prophet (pbuh) ?

Some examples of Sunnis loving the enemies of Prophet are:

1. Sunnis love Aisha who used to hurt, taunt, hate, waged war on Prophet's Ahlulbayt.

2. Sunnis love Umer who said he will kill the prophet right before he converted.

3. Sunnis love Khalid bin Walid who was the leader of the Kuffar in Battle of Ohud.

4. Sunnis love Muawiah who waged wars on prophet until the conquest of Makkah.

5. Sunnis love Abu Sufyan who was the leader of Kuffar of Makkah until the conquest of Makkah.

Yes Prophet (pbuh) forgave them after the conquest of Makkah, but the question is, "Did they Forgive the Prophet for bringing Islam to the people"?

"Did they Forgive the Prophet for bringing Islam to the people"?

Islam clears the sins committed before it.

Omar, Khalid, and Muawiah have spread Islam to the world.

Sunnis love the people who brought Islam to them, the ones that taught them their religion. In most Sunni-muslim countries there is  Sahabi or a tab'i name that is known for bringing Islam to that country. For example, in Egypt it is Omar ibn al A'as (under the leadership of Umar bin Al-Kattab). Egyptians still remember Ibn al A'as for bringing Islam to them and for being their first muslim ruler and they are very grateful for both men for bringing Islam to them.

That doesnt mean they were infallible afterward. They 100% committed many grave sins after the prophets death. Im not going to get into what they did, but lets say bidha at the least. The punishment for bidha is hell, as you should know....

If anyone wants to make a list of what they did please do so...

He asked why Sunnis love them, I gave him one of many reasons.

I don't want to get into an endless argument, I was answering his question from a Sunni's perspective.

Number two isnt really a fair reason. Not saying anything about Umar, but that in particular is not fair. Lot's of people used to hate, curse and threaten the prophet and ahlulbayt, but then converted/reverted and became good muslims. So that reason in particular is not valid in my opinion.

Agreed. I think a better reason would be that he doubted the prophet hood of the Prophet (pbuh).

This is the least objective thread I've ever read in my life. I think it's quite clear Ahlus Sunnah don't view these people as 'enemies' of the Prophet and Ahlul Bayt (as). They clearly have justifications for these actions you have mentioned, and whether you agree or not, this is not the right way to try to prove these 1400 year old figures were 'enemies'.

2. Your understanding of Islam is wrong. When a person accepts Islam, Allah forgives his past sins.

I know you are a Shia with good intention but somethings are not up to us and our opinion. If Quran says Love the Ahl al-Bayt and Hate their Enemies then there is no in-between options. I do not want to offend you but The Second one not only never accepted Islam by heart, he totally changed the Religion.

The Idols of Quraysh and their Daughters did not only Threatened to kill the Holy Prophet, they actually Assassinated the holy Prophet.

I urge the Shias to read "The Book of Sulaym ibn Qays al-Hilali" also called "Asraar e 'Aal e Muhammad". This book is the earliest Shia book and mother-source of all Shia books. Sheikh Tusi, Allamah Majlisi, Sheikh Saduq, Kulayni, and all great Shia scholars have relied on this book. Hadhrat Abu Sadiq Sulaym ibn Qays al-Hilali was a Companion of Holy Prophet, a special companion of Amir ul-Momenin and Four other Imams; Imam al-Mujtaba, Sayed ul-Shuhada, Imam al-Sajjad and Imam al-Baqir (Salawatullah Alayhim Ajmaeen).

Imam al-Sadiq said regarding the Book of Sulaym: "The ones from our Shia and those that love us, who does not have the Book of Sulaym ibn Qays al-Hilali, then there is nothing with him from our matters, nor does he know anything from our reasons, the Book of Sulaym is the Alphabet of Shi'ism and a Secret from the Secrets of Progeny of Muhammad."

Well sister, you clearly did not understand my point. Point is you can't hate someone because they "used" to hate islam and the prophet before they turned to Islam. Now if they turned to Islam and still hated the prophet and the ahlulbayt then yes of course. But you can't judge someones faith in islam based on their behavior before they turned muslim.

The onus is on each and every Shia to find out by reading traditional Shia books. Most of Shia hadith books such as "Bihar ul-Anwar" which is a precious collection of ahadith of Ahl al-Bayt in 110 volumes by Sheikh al-Saduq, are available online, therefore there is no excuse left for anyone. Those who read "Book of Sulaym", "Bihar ul-Anwar", "Amali", "Kafi", and other traditional Shia books know that I am right and know what I am talking about.

Shahid Hassan Shehata in a speech says: "My only fear on the day of judgment is; not the path, not the scale, etc. my only fear is that Imam Ali stops me and ask me: my son! how could you praise my enemy?"

He was a Sunni converted to Shi'ism, therefore there is no excuse for Shias who not only do not curse the enemies of Ahl al-Bayt, they go as far as respecting them too.

By the way I am a brother

Thats why Prophet traditions are rare in Shia Hadith books?

While Sunnis books are full of the traditions of the Prophet (saw).

Seriously?

Glimpses of Hadiths in Siheen:

Yeh lots of hadiths from the holy prophet All are Sahih included in Sahiheen, but yet to decide which one is TRUE?

Which was the last Ayat of the Qur'an that was revealed:

Narrated Ibn Abbas:

The last Verse (in the Quran) revealed to the Prophet was the Verse dealing with

usury (i.e. Riba). [sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, #67]

Narrated Al-Bara:

… and the last Verse that was revealed was: "They ask you for a legal verdict, Say:

Allah's directs (thus) about those who leave no descendants or ascendants as heirs."

(4.176) [sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, #129]

The same is also mentioned in Sahih Muslim.

Al-Bara' (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the last verse revealed in the Holy

Qur'an is: "They ask thee for a religious verdict; say: Allah gives you a religious

verdict about Kalala (the person who has neither parents nor children)". [sahih Muslim,

Book 011, #3939]

Now a translation of the Ayat 4:176:

They request from you a ruling. Say: ‘Allah gives you a ruling about people who die

without direct heirs: If a man dies childless but has a sister she receives half of what he

leaves, and he is her heir if she dies childless. If there are two sisters they receive two thirds

of what he leaves. If there are brothers and sisters the males receive the share

of two females. Allah makes things clear to you so you will not go astray. Allah has

knowledge of all things.’ (Qur'an 4:176)

Does this Ayat have anything to do with riba (or usury), as mentioned in the

hadith attributed to Hazrat Ibn Abbas as the last verse revealed?

That is a different topic. If you have problem with narrations of Sahih Bukhari open a new topic.

Seriously?

Why is it that Sunnis get enraged with the fire of hell when somebody tells the truth of their Sahaba-Gods?

All the while, these same "Sahaba" disrespected the Prophet, killed Prophet's family members, and harmed the true Muslims of Prophet's time.

It's almost like Wahabi - Sunnis take those sahabas as Gods. Shirk! Shirk! Shirk!

this whole suni shia debate is won already by the fact that sayida fatima never gave baya (allegiance / blessing ), that her house was attacked, and that she was made upset .. until she passed away months after her father (pbuh)

of course suni sources don't even talk about the strange event of having a child pass away right after the father, instead of investigate any reasons for it.

having sayida fatimah, and sayed ali (pbuh) upset ( confirmed in muslim, bukhari ) is all it takes to prove the haq of the matter

however, other events like omars disobedience of the prophet and tons of other events just confirm.

once any person understands the root issue, which is sayida fatima and sayid ali, the rest of the picture gets cleared up in sha Allah

For anyone who doubts about Muawiyah (and most of the ummayads) that he did not hate imam ali (as) then please ponder on the proofs carefully below.

The Prophet (PBUH&HF) looked toward Ali, al-Hasan, al-Husain, and Fatimah, and said: "I am in the state of war with those who will fight you, and in the state of peace with those who are peaceful to you." (1) Sahih al-Tirmidhi, v5, p699 (2) Sunan Ibn Majah, v1, p52 (3) Fada'il al-Sahaba, by Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, v2, p767, Tradition #1350 (4) al-Mustadrak, by al-Hakim, v3, p149

The Messenger of Allah said:

"Whoever reviles/curses Ali, has reviled/cursed me"

Sunni reference:

al-Mustadrak, by al-Hakim, v3, p121, who mentioned this tradition is authentic. - Musnad Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, v6, p323 - Fada'il al-Sahaba, by Ahmad Hanbal, v2, p594, Tradition #1011 - Majma' al-Zawa'id, by al-Haythami, v9, p130 - Mishkat al-Masabih, English version, Tradition #6092 - Tarikh al-Khulafa, by Jalaluddin al-Suyuti, p173

Muawiyah, the son of Abu Sufyan, give order to Sa'd, and told him:

"What prevents you that you are refraining from cursing Abu Turab (nickname of Ali)?" Sa'd replied: "Don't you remember that the Prophet said three things about (the virtue of) Ali? So I will never curse Ali."

Sunni reference: Sahih Muslim, Tradition #5916

When Mu'awiya went for Hajj, he held the hand of Sa'd bin Abi Waqas and said to him: 'Oh Abi Ishaq! We are the people who abandoned Hajj because of wars until we almost forgot some of its laws, so we performed Tawaf (circumambulation) to imitate your Tawaf'. When they completed (the hajj), he (Muawiya) entered upon him (Sa'd) in a conference room and sat with him on his sofa, then he (Muawiya) mentioned Ali bin Abi Talib and cursed him. He (Sa'd) said: 'You brought me to your house and made me sit on your sofa and then you have begun to curse Ali?'
Ibn Kathir Al Bidayah wa al Nahayah, Volume 7 page 341, Chapter: The virtues of Ali

In Sunan Ibn Majah, Volume 1 page 45 we read the following tradition:

"On his way to Hajj, Sa'd met Mu'awiya and his companions mentioned 'Ali upon which Mu'awiya showed disrespect towards Ali, Sa'd got angry and asked 'why do you say such things?'"

An esteemed pillar of the Salafi Sect Shaykh Al-albaani graded the above cited Hadith as'Sahih', see

Sahih Sunan Ibn Majah by Albani, Volume 1 page 26

Ibn Kathir records in Al Bidayah wal Nihayah, Volume 8 page 17:

فاشترط أن يأخذ من بيت مال الكوفة خمسة آلاف ألف درهم، وأن يكون خراج دار أبجرد له، وأن لا يسب علي وهو يسمع

"He (Hasan) placed conditions of having five million from Kufa's treasury, the income from the taxes of the city of Darabjird and not to curse Ali when he (al Hasan) could hear that"
Al Bidayah wal Nihayah, Volume 8 page 17

Ibn Tamiyah

If there still remains any doubt then let us submit the testimony from the tongue our arch nemesis the beloved Imam of the Salafis Ibn Tamiyah who in Minhaj al-Sunnah, Volume 5 page 42 also confirmed that Muawiya 'ordered' Sa'd to curse Ali bin Abi Talib:

وأما حديث سعد لما أمره معاوية بالسب فأبى

"While the narration about Sa’d (relates to) when Mu’awyia ordered him to curse but he refused"

"Marwan bin Hakam used to curse Hadrat Ali (as) in the Sermon (Khutba) of Friday."
Tarikh al Islam, by Al-Dhahabi, vol. 2, page 288

I HAVE PLENTY MORE SUNNI REFERENCES FOR ANYONE WHO DOUBTS THAT MUAWIYAH AND MOST OF THE UMMAYADS HATED IMAM ALI

Exactly, one of the reasons of Ghaybah of Imam al-Zamana is that there are not enough Real Shias. These Safavi persian hijacked our Madh'hab, they have misguided millions of Shias and they did more damage to Shi'ism than Umaris. May Allah resurrect them with Enemies of Ahl al-Bayt.
