"Connection with the 12th Imam During Ghaybat; Impact of the Nur of the Imam - Maulana Syed Rizvi"

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Urcou0ircEI

To help establish the spiritual connection with the Imam of the Time (atfs), Maulana Rizvi related that Ayatollah Khorasani has mentioned the following to his students on the enquiry on how to establish (spiritual) connection:

1-3 stresses on self-purification whilst 4-5 emphasizes the expression of love towards the Imam of the Time (atfs)

1. Doing namaz (solah) at their prime time

2. Fulfiling the wajibat

3. Refraining from the haram

4. Everyday after Solatul Fajr recite Dua Ahad (Pledge of Allegiance)

5. Recite Sura Ya Seen once a day and dedicate the reward to the Imam of the Time (atfs) **

** Maulana commented that he (Maulana) has not come across any hadith on this. However, the Maulana mentioned that it may have come out of the personal experience/practice of Ayatollah Khorasani.

Salam,

Sometimes, we don't have our [plan] laid out in front of our eyes. Sometimes; especially when talking about Spiritualism, it is something that one must search inside himself/herself. Just as Ayatollah Khorasani has researched this very topic himself, you wont find a lot of Ahadith on it; but do not worry, there is a reason for that brother. When I have found there isn't Ahadith on certain issues and/or topic's of interest, I look for an example through a story from the past.

Have you heard the story called:

How the Ant Strived to Reach the Beloved

"While passing through a desert, His Holiness saw an ant picking some dust from a small mound and carrying it to put in another place. He asked Allah ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáì to inform him of the secret of this ant. ...The ant began to speak: 'I have a beloved who has set as a condition for my union with her the carrying of all dust from that mound to this place!'

'How long will you be able to shift such big mound of dust to the required location? After all, will your life be sufficient for that'? The Prophet Dawood (pbuh) asked the ant. To which he answered: 'I know all this! But my joy is in that if I die in this way, I will have died in the way of my beloved!' Hearing this, Prophet Dawood (pbuh) got quite overwhelmed and figured out this story as a lesson for himself."

Recommendation:

Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (as) said: "Whoever reads this covenant for forty mornings they will be ranked as our Qa'im's helper's, and if he dies before reappearance of the Qa'im, God will raise him from his grave to be at the service of that Qa'im."

Dua-e-Ahad (Supplication of the Covenant) http://www.duas.org/ahad.htm

This particular Dua'a has been done by many, many scholar's and also religious people in general. I hope this post helps you in some way, Insha'Allah khair.

May Allah (s.w.t.) hasten the reappearance of our 12th Imam [a] to establish equality, truth, and justice throughout the world.

A common misconception among shias is that we are waiting for him, this is wrong. It is he who is waiting for us. So you want connection to him, build yourself. Do the things you know are wajibat, and refrain from sin. You will get closer.

Well written. It is also wise to give advice that such duas are more efficient if one also sticks to their wajibats and mustahabats as well, whilst avoiding sinning. Duas are supplements and not shortcuts.
