Disrespecting Sunni Sahaba

The major point of disagreement between Shia and Sunni is Respect of Sunni Sahaba.I call them Sunni sahaba because Shia don’t consider them Sahaba. But unfortunately this disagreement is becoming violent in many countries, resulting in the loss of innocent civilian lives.

Is disrespecting or criticizing the Sunni Sahaba part of shia religion? Can’t they forget the disagreements, if any, that they had with Ali?

If the Shias started considering Sunni Sahaba as Just and decent, even if inferior to Aaal e Rasul, Shia and Sunni can live like brothers.

I must compliment Grand Ayatollah Abu al-Qassim al-Khu’I, who took the first step in this effort of reconciliation. :yaali:

“al-Bayan fi Tafsir al-Qur’an” pg.216:

The special care of the Prophet (s) with regards to the Qur'an and its preservation, and recitation, and the special care that the Sahaba gave it in the time of the Prophet (s) and after his death, this gives us certainty that it is preserved with them, combined or separated, memorized in the breasts or written down. They took care of preserving the poetry of Jahiliyyah, so how can they not take care of the glorious book? The book that they placed their lives in danger to preach and promote its rulings, and in its cause they abandoned their lands and spent their wealth, and left their women and children, and stood in the positions that whitened the pages of history. So can a sane man possibly believe that they never took care of the Qur'an!?

If you want us to kiss your foreheads and tell you to keep killing away, then you need a reality check..Why should we when you people never even stand up against your governments whom are oppressing and slaughtering the Shias? Why should we when your government funds cockroaches to behead Shias? No more being nice, being nice is going to get us killed and backstabbed. I've never seen Sunnis rallying against the mistreatment of Shias in Iraq, the mistreatments in Bahrain, and Syria. Look at those Palestinians, how many of them have the Shias armed, and treated them even better than our brethren. Yet after all that, they go and join terrorist groups to kill  the Shias in Iraq and Syria. LOl its funny too, now they are allies with Zionist against the Shias. The same  people that once were dancing because the twin towers fell, are now allies with America....you see how you people cant be  trusted?

Holding any opinion about a Sunni sahabi based on historical evidences found in even the Sunni books is not disrespect or reality nor will it change anything whether they are glorified or demonized. It is not worth fighting over yet the Wahabi mullah has cleverly managed to exploit the ignorance of the most ignorant among their followers to sow sedition. The present day "Sunni" need to understand that if possible.

The only way to achieve unity with (real) Sunni is for them to recognize the Ja'fari school of thought as, say, the 5th school of thought beside their own four "Sunni Muslim" schools; Hanbali, Shaafii, Maliki and Hanafi which are all no less mutually different than the Shia. It is only logical and rational. And this is the only way forward for anyone who wishes for unity.

For 14 centuries past the general Sunni and Shia populace has been carrying on with their lives while the governments have always been busy committing Shia genocide. But now even some of the Sunni populace, a.k.a terrorists have become the hands of their governments while the rest of the Sunni are quiet as is their tradition.

But any way, the reality is that the Sunni are extinct and only Wahabies are left so its too late now.

You mean cursing/cussing/abusing those particular names you mentioned first openly. Whereas the "Sunni" terrorists will martyr any one who even criticizes any of them, including Yazid and Muawiya, regardless of the fact that through history their own most valued books and scholars say far worse about them.

Seriously, how many 12'er Shia does anyone know who openly cuss 1, 2, 3 and the two particular ummahat-al-momineen? Even on ShiaChat, a place other than real life, there is not a single post like that to be found where those are cursed by a Shia.

This whole disrespect to sahaba business is a dark, slippery and pointless venue that the Wahabi mullah has chosen to hole up in.

- What about their disrespect of Allah of whom they have absolutely no ma'rifah?

- What about their disrespect of Qur'anic commandments when they go against it in every way and form a fiqh and shariah that is against it?

- What about their disrespect and gross blasphemies against the holy Prophet (pbuh) when they lie about him?

- What about their disrespect to all things holy and otherwise that their own books target and slander?

- What about their disrespect of the sahaba even when they exhume their graves and burn them?

- What about their disrespect of the "Sunni sahaba" by their own books? Why don't they burn all the copies of those first?

- What about their disrespect to the ummah which they have ruined?

- What about their disrespect to this world that they destroy with their militancy?

I agree. They complain about us cursing tyrants, yet they disrespect the Quran (by following oxymoronic hadeeth) and the Prophet (PBUH).

Disrespecting Sahaba is an offence punishable by death in sunnis. It may not seem civilized in an age of freedom of Expression. But the same is true about disrespecting PROPHET.How can Shias defend Imam Khomeini’s death sentence against Suleiman Rushdie.Suleman was not as repulsive as some of the Shias. If His portrayal of mother Ayesha can earn him a death sentence, what about the shias?

Al Khui proved that if shias want to accept this present Quran, they must believe that all Sahaba were decent and just. Because the only way they got the present Quran was because sahaba preserved it. The present Quran is called the Book of Othman because he preserved it and destroyed other copies. So if Shia think that all the sahabas, except three, turn apostate after the death of Prophet, then they must read a different Quran

Shias are not the innocent victims of these hostilities but they are also killing sunnis. But as a Human, we should not be proud of killing or getting killed innocent civilians

Khamenei fatwa against abusing Sahaba is another positive step toward friendship. Shias can play the innocents in the killing game but this doesn’t change the fact that they incite violence by abusing Sahabas.Taqayah is part of their religion so if they praise sahaba to save lives, is it any different?

Please define what you mean by Sahaba? I have heard Sunnis sometime confine the word Sahabas to the first three caliphs in discussions with Shias or at times they encompass all the Muslims who were alive during the time of the Prophet (pbuh) and/or met the Prophet (pbuh) as Sahabas. Which one is your definition of the word Sahaba?

So wheres the Sunnis? The "good God fearing ones" when these goons happen to appear? Or do they only protest and burn flags when someone drawls the prophets picture? I guess  your not insulting the prophet when you go against his teaching. "One Murder is Equal to the Killing the Whole of Humanity "

"Taqayah" -  can only be used in Life threatening situations... And look we dont all curse the Sahaba....you have exterme Shia's who go to that extent but most of us DONT.

Let me try explain:

Shia's

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

You have extreme Shia's : For example : those who curse...

Normal Shia's (like most of us):  Who leave the judgement on Allah swt

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Much like Sunni's

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

You have extreme: those who blow themselves up

Normal Sunni's: Who leave the Judgement on Allah swt

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

were not much different but you need to stop over generalsing, by saying that all Shia's curse etc..

You never find a Shia saying All Sunni's are terrorist even though every Terrorist has been Sunni (9/11, London Bombings, Woolich attack etc)...yet you always say that "All Shias Curse" etc...you need to stop over generalising.

We DONT sit down all day and Curse...lol its not how it works... we may expose problem's in History this doesnt mean were cursing...

Furthermore, we are logical thinkers... we dont say ALL the Sahaba are great...

seriously, you should ask serious questions...how can you tell us that Taqayah is apart of our religion...when you dont understand the concept of Taqayah...

you think Taqayah means you can LIE whenever you want lol...once again very narrow minded...

We are Obedient to Allah swt...we dont believe that you get closer to Allah swt by cursing people, lieing... seriously, if you dont understand our beliefs ask questions like

What is Taqayah according to Shia's?...but your not going to believe what we say so I dont know what your doing on this site...

BTW IN SHIA BELIEF YOU CANNOT CURSE...IF A FEW DO THIS DOESNT MEAN THAT ALL OF US DO...much like some Sunni's are Terrorist's but not All Sunni's are...

and please dont come back saying that those are not Sunni's.....

Abu Abdullah said: When the prophet PBUH was born he remained for several days without getting Breast Milk, So Abu Talib put him on his breast and Allah granted him Milk so he fed the Prophet for several days until Abu Talib came upon Haleemah al Sa’adiyah so he handed him to her.

Does it solve the problem? Shias will cry zaif and Sunnis will laugh at this, but they will still hate each other. Most of the shias here live in the west and maybe they don’t care about shias being killed in the remote parts of civilization.

It's got nothing to do with Sunni Sahaba or who considers who as a Sahabi and who as not. It has to do with the definition of a Sahabi and the criteria of Sahabiath. Who's actions (sayings and doings) makes one fall into the category of the Sahaba or makes one fall out of that category in general. Then the Sahaba are further categorised due to their character, performance and achievement and their status/level depends on that. If one is honoured then it is down to them to uphold that honour at all times and not to disgrace themselves, due to certain actions and behaviour. So my friend, there is no seal of approval. To be continued!

Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous. Why Allah has not promised all of those? since Allah swt is most knowing and wise. This confirms the Shii point of view that this verse does not cover all of the companions since a group of companions turned apostate after the holy prophet saww.

This is the reality Shia convey to the mindful people.

Why is this disagreement becoming violent and who is responsible for this violence??? Disagreement on the status of the Sahaba, does this give one the ultimate authority to sentence one to capital punishment or label one as wajib ul qatal??? Come on, be civilised! Ok, if one humiliates, slanders, criticises, condemns, insults, curses etc any Sahabi for what ever reason, how is this person wajib ul qatal??? How does this give one the excuse to turn violent???

What is interesting is this that Shea will defend the death sentence on Sulman Rushdie. He used a reference to some verses which were added to Quran and later removed to criticize Islam.

But when Shia do the same thing, use a reference to criticize Sunnis, they think Sunnis should present flowers to them.

If you humiliate, criticise, slander, condemn, insult, curse, swear etc any members of the Ahlul Baith or the Shia 12 Imaam, then on what basis would you do it??? What would be the reason??? What would your justification and reasoning be??? Would this make you wajib ul qatal??? If you did as such then the Shias certainly will not give you a bunch of flowers and they also certainly will not kill you in cold blood. Salman Rushdie tampering with the Quran and Shias cursing some of the Sahaba are two totally different things. You've got yourself all mixed up here. You haven't answered my question. Does humiliating, slandering, criticising, insulting, condemning, swearing, cursing etc any Sahabi make you wajib ul qatal??? Does this give one to kill one in cold blood, just because one chooses to commit such an act??? I thought one shouldn't hold/keep any grudge against anyone. Did any Sahabi kill or order anyone to kill any person who didn't favour or show respect towards any particular Sahabi??? Did any Sahabi hold/keep a grudge against anyone who didn't like them???

Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other. This is their similitude in the Taurat; and their similitude in the Gospel is: like a seed which sends forth its blade, then makes it strong; it then becomes thick, and it stands on its own stem, (filling) the sowers with wonder and delight. You said " If Sunnis killed Shais then it is justified to kill Sunnis ", well at least you've given a reason, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, despite the sarcastic comment, from you, that later followed. Don't you think one has the right or should have the right to respond under ongoing drastic circumstances???? At least you've given a reason " If ".

It is stated in ash-Shifa of Qadi 'Iyad (رحمه الله):

Imaam Malik (رحمه الله) said, "Whoever reviles any of the companions of the prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) - Abu bakr, umar, uthman, mu'awiya or amr ibn al-as (رضي الله عنهم) - is killed if he says that they were subject to misguidance or disbelief. If he reviles them in another way as people curse each other, he is given a severe punishment."

I have already showed you that the Iranian rap artist, Shahin Najafi, has been condemned to death for insulting a Shia Imam

http://www.thecommentator.com/article/1254/iranian_death_fatwas_issued_on_muslims_and_non_muslims

IN fact he never insulted Imam Naqi, but was only asking for his return. But this punishment will be totally acceptable to shias.

Why will you criticize Sahaba? To show that Sunnis are kafir and denizens of Hell? If you think that Sunnis are Muslim, why hurt your brother’s feelings? Leave us deluded about the status of sahaba and you keep following your Imams. This amicable solution was adopted by early shias but after the Iranian revolution. Things got hostile.

We are not fond of saying any thing more except that has been quoted in your authentic traditions, we do have right to ask who are these companions?

Sahih al-Bukhari Hadith: 8.585

Narrated Abu Hazim from Sahl bin Sa'd:

The Prophet said, "I am your predecessor (forerunner) at the Lake-    Fount, and whoever will pass by there, he will drink from it and    whoever will drink from it, he will never be thirsty. There will come  to me some people whom I will recognize, and they will recognize me,   but a barrier will be placed between me and them." Abu Hazim added:

Nu'man bin Abi 'Aiyash, on hearing me, said. "Did you hear this from  Sahl?" I said, "Yes." He said, " I bear witness that I heard Abu Said    al-Khudri saying the same, adding that the Prophet said: 'I will say:

They are my companions. Then it will be said to me, 'You do not know

They are my companions. Then it will be said to me, 'You do not know

It is our belief that a SAhabi is a person who die with correct belief. All those people who joined Muslima or other innovators are not real Sahabis. But they are called Sahabis in a literal sense.Ubdullah bin Ubay was called a sahabi in sahi bukhri no 4907.In Sahi muslim 5972, it is explained that sahabis here are the whole ummat of Rasul/

When 'Umar r.a died, 'Ali r.a asked Allah to bless him and have peace in him saying,

"There is no other person on earth with whose deeds I desire to merge with my deeds, except the man in this coffin."

Recorded by many Shee'ah scholars: Sayyid Murtadha in Kitaab ush-Shaafee, p. 171; Abu Jaa'far at-Toosee in Talkhees ash-Shaafee ('Iraan: vol. 2; p. 428); Ibn Babwee, Ibn Abee'l-Hadeed and Sudooq in Ma'ani ul-Akhbaar ('Iraan, p. 117).

The Holy Prophet (S) had thousands of Sahaba but Sahaba for Umaris mean those who gathered in "Saqeefa" and the arch-enemies of Ahle Bayt Úáíå ÇáÓáÇã. LOL

So the Iman depended on who you support after Muhammad? If supporting Ali made you Momin, what about those people that initially supported and later opposed him like Talha and Zubair, Even Shimmir was the shiyan e Ali battle of siifin and fighting for Ali

So Sunni are unaware of sahabi / companions  who became apostate after the prophet?  Who would be stopped from entering into pool of paradise?

Does it make sense to follow those companions whose susscess on the day of resurrection is not confirmed? Should we follow them and admire follwing them we are following the true sunnah of the holy prophet? saww. what nonsense?

This confirms shii point of view that the group of companions became apostate after the demise of holy prophet. The prophet saww knowling these facts has instructed the ummah to stick to quran and ahl al bayat (Hadith e Thaqlain) instead of companions whom success on the day of resurrection is doubtful and following them may lead to hell fire.

You don’t have a choice. You must follow the Sahaba. The Quran you read was collected by this Sahabis. So until the zahoor of Imam e zamana, you are forced to follow them.

But we know which of the Sahabis stood fast to the religion of Prophet. These were the close companions who are buried with him

Ahl e Bait is also used for wives for Prophet, and major part of suni Islam comes from them.Shias donnt include wives but Quran ONLY include wives in ahl e bait.

The grace of Allah and His blessings on you, o you Ahlel Bayt (People of the House)! for He is indeed worthy of all praise, full of all glory!’” (Quran, 11:72-73)

Sorry, You are just trying to make the mindful ones fool without any authentic evidence from haidth text with complete reference, the prophet has made it clear to follow quran and Ahl al bayat including 12 imams none other. The following the companions certainly may lead to hell fire as stated in the above mentioned hadith The propet has mnetioned to follow quran since quran existed there in book form otheriwse how could have mentioned it?

But we know which of the Sahabis stood fast to the religion of Prophet. These were the close companions who are buried with him

Sorry brother, no evidence you can find tin this concern , even he wife of the prophet and even the son of the prophet can be unbelievrs as per quran then what about those who were  buried  there beside the prophet. burying beside the prohet without the permission from the iinheritors of the prophet does not give any sign of respect to these people.

So the wives could be considered in ahl al bayat only if they were the mother of the son of the prophet as quoted in the above verse.

Now we look the verse of purification and the detail from quran wheteher the wives of prophet are included in ahl al bayat or not?

1-Evidence From Quran

The Holy Book of Allah mentions Ahlul-Bayt and their exceptional virtue in the following verse which is known as "Purification Verse" (Ayah al-Tat'hir):

"Verily Allah intends to keep off from you every kind of uncleanness O' People of the House (Ahlul-Bayt), and purify you with a perfect purification". (Quran, the last sentence of Verse 33:33)

                ||    /.            .   |    | ||          |  .  |

           w_7 _||  o_)_,_c  .__,_8 ]_,_|  4_|_|| ]_,  _,  |_o_, |

        (_/ . /    (          .      :             :  /:

                   |     | :      /   |         ..      ||   |   |

                   | _,_8_D_,   o_) _8_D_,  q  .__,_,_,_||   |_8 |

                    /:         (   /    :   /      : .     (_|

According to the above verse, Allah expresses his intention to keep Ahlul-Bayt pure and flawless/sinless, and what Allah intends it will certainly take place as Quran itself testifies (see 16:40). Indeed, a human can be sinless because he is not forced to commit sin. It is the human's choice to accept the instructions of Allah and get His help to avoid sin, or to neglect Allah's commandments and commit the sin. Allah is advisor, and encourager, and warner. A sinless human is still a human; no doubt about it. Some people assert that in order to be human, one SHOULD have some mistakes. Such claim is unsupported. The truth is that Human CAN make mistakes but he does not have to.

2-AUTHENTIC Traditions

It is interesting to see that both Sahih Muslim and Sahih al-Tirmidhi as well as many others confirm the Shi'ite point of view explained above. In Sahih Muslim, there is a chapter named "Chapter of Virtues of the Companions". Inside this chapter, there is a section called "Section of the Virtues of the Ahlul-Bayt of the Prophet". There exists ONLY ONE tradition in this section, and this tradition has no reference to the wives of the Prophet (PBUH&HF). The tradition is known as "The Tradition of Cloak/Mantle" (Hadith al-Kisaa), and is as follows:

Narrated Aisha:

One day the Prophet (PBUH&HF) came out afternoon wearing a black cloak (upper garment or gown; long coat), then al-Hasan Ibn Ali came and the Prophet accommodated him under the cloak, then al-Husain came and entered the cloak, then Fatimah came and the Prophet entered her under the cloak, then Ali came and the Prophet entered him to the cloak as well. Then the Prophet recited: "Verily Allah intends to keep off from you every kind of uncleanness O' People of the House (Ahlul-Bayt), and purify you a perfect purification (the last sentence of Verse 33:33)."

Sunni reference:

  • Sahih Muslim, Chapter of virtues of companions, section of the virtues of the Ahlul-Bayt of the Prophet (PBUH&HF), 1980 Edition Pub. in Saudi Arabia, Arabic version, v4, p1883, Tradition #61.

One can see that the author of Sahih Muslim confirms that:

1.     Imam Ali, Fatimah, al-Hasan, and al-Husain are the Ahlul-Bayt,

2.     The purification sentence in Quran (the last sentence of Verse 33:33) was revealed for the virtue of the above-mentioned individuals, and NOT for the wives of the Prophet (PBUH&HF).

The fact that the gender in later part of Verse 33:33 is switched from feminine to masculine, has led the majority of Sunni commentators to believe that the last part was revealed for Imam Ali, Fatimah, al-Hasan and al-Husain, as Ibn Hajar al-Haythami indicated:

Based on the opinion of the majority of (Sunni) commentators, the saying of Allah :"Verily Allah intends to ... (the last sentence of the verse 33:33)" was revealed for Ali, Fatimah, al-Hasan, and al-Husain, because of the usage of masculine gender in the word "Ankum" and after that.

Sunni reference: al-Sawa'iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar, Ch. 11, section 1, p220

Thus it is clear that wives of the prophet are not included in ahl al bayat.

It is not necessary that a wife must be mother of a son of Prophet to be Ahl e Bayet.Because his wife is called ahl bayet when she is not even pregnant here. And it also takes Khadija out of Ahl e Bayet. So the Mother of Hzt Faima was not a member of Prophet`s house.

and what Allah intends it will certainly take place as Quran itself testifies (see 16:40)

It is not always necessary.

It is clear here that not all will walk in the path of righteous and Allah will not accept Tuba for everything.

When the prophet wrapped them in blanket, 33.33 was already revealed for the wives. If it was meant for panjtan pak, there was no need for Prophet to repeat it in Hadith. They were not included in the verse, it is addressed to wives, so Prophet added others in it.

Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity [of sin], O people of the [Prophet's] household, and to purify you with [extensive] purification (33:33)

"Verily Allah intends to keep off from you uncleanness, O you Ahl ul Bayt and purify you with a thorough purification" is a separate verse revealed on a particular occasion but placed here.

The time, occasion and people concerned in connection with the revelation of the above noted verse have been discussed and made known in many authentic books of the Muslim scholars.

The one and only reference available to the commentators is the event of the blanket (Hadith al Kisa).

The "event of the blanket" has been written by the following authors whom the Muslim Ummah acclaim with one voice.

(1) Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Hanbal (241 H) "Musnad" (Egypt: 131 H) pages 259, 285, 292.

(2) Muslim bin Hajjaj Nayshapuri (261 H) Sahih Muslim" (Egypt: 1349) vol. 4, page 116.

(3) Abi Isa Muhammad Tirmidhi (275 or 279 H) "Sahih Tirmidhi" (Sharah ibnul Arabi) (Egypt: 1352 H) vol. 13 pages 200, 248.

(4) Ahmed ibn Shu-ayb Nisa-i (303 H) "Khasa-is" (Egypt: 1348 H) page 4.

(5) Ibn Jarir Tabari (310 H) "Tafsir Tabari" (Jama ul Bayan fi Tafsir il Quran) (Egypt: 1331 H) vol.22, page 5.

(6) Sulayman bin Ahmad Al Tibrani (360 H) "Al Mu-jam Al Saghir" (Dehli: 1311 H), page 34, 75.

(7) Hakim Nayshapuri (405 H) "Al Mustadrak" (Hyderabad Deccan: 1334 H), pages 146, 147, 148.

(8) Yusuf bin Abdullah ibni Abdul Birr (463 H) "Al Isti-ab" (Hyderabad Deccan: 1346 H),

vol. 2, page 460.

  1. Ali bin Ahmad Al Wahidi (468 H) "Asbab ul Nuzul" (Egypt: 1315 H) pages 266, 267.

Tirmidhi, Ibn Jarir Tabari, Hakim and Tibrani have related from Ummi Salima that when this verse was revealed the Holy Prophet was under a blanket or mantle along with Ali, Fatimah, Hasan and Husayn, and he declared that his family consisted of only these persons. Ummi Salima, his wife, within whose quarters the revelation came, asked permission to be included in the group under the blanket, but she was politely refused permission. The group is known ever since with the epithet "panjtan pak" or "the holy group of five". These are the persons who were compared by the Holy Prophet with the ark of Nuh wherein those who embarked were saved, while those who sought shelter elsewhere were drowned. Refer to Tafsir Azizi by Shah Abdul Aziz and Tafsir Durr al Manthur by Jalal al Din al Suyuti. In Yanabi al Mawaddat, page 87, Shaykh al Islam writes that A-isha said: "Ayah al Tat-hir refers only to the Holy Prophet, Ali, Fatimah, Hasan and Husayn. No wife of his is included." On page 280 of volume two of Sharah Nuwi of Sahih Muslim it is written that when Zayd bin Arqam was asked whether the wives of the Holy Prophet are included in the Ahl ul Bayt, he said: "By Allah the wives of the Holy Prophet cannot be included in the Ahl ul Bayt at all, because after the pronouncement of divorce the wives are reverted to their parent; and, moreover, sadqah (charity) is prohibited to be given to the Ahl ul Bayt." Also please refer to the commentary of Shura: 42 and Ali Imran : 61 for further confirmation and proofs.

Some commentators report this tradition through A-isha who says that this event took place in her house. So two wives of the Holy Prophet have confirmed that they both were not given permission by the Holy Prophet to come under the blanket, so they could never be described as Ahl ul Bayt.

Thalabi reports that when A-isha was asked as to why she violated the command of Allah "to stay in your houses" by going to the battle of Jamal against Ali, she said:

"It was my fate. I saw the Holy Prophet taking Ali, Fatima, Hasan and Husain under his mantle and heard him saying: 'O Allah, these are my Ahl ul Bayt. Keep off impurity from them.' I asked him: 'Am I not of your Ahl ul Bayt?' He said: 'Go away from here. You are not of my Ahlul Bayt.'"

Abu Dawud and Malik relate from Anas that for six months after the revelation of this verse every morning, while going for fajr salat, the Holy Prophet used to recite this verse at the door of Fatimah's house.

In verse 73 of Hud Sara is addressed as Ahli Bayt, not as the wife of Ibrahim but as the mother of prophet Is-haq, because the state of being a wife of a prophet gives no privilege to a woman as stated above and clearly indicated by the Holy Prophet himself, and decisively proved by the condemnation of the wives of Nuh and Lut.

Abdulrahman bin Abi Layla, a dignified Companion, says: “Once we asked Prophet Muhammad  (pbuh)   about how to pray on his household although Allah told us how to pray on him. Prophet Muhammad answered: “Say: ‘O’ Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, just as You sent prayers upon Ebraheem and the family of Ebraheem. Verily, You are full of praise and majesty. O’ Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, just as You sent blessings upon Ebraheem and upon the family of Ebraheem. Verily, You are full of praise and majesty.”

Then Prophet Muhammad   taught them other forms of prayers upon him and his family, and one of the forms is: “O’ Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and upon the wives and descendants of Muhammad, just as you sent prayers upon the family of Ebraheem, and send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the wives and descendants of Muhammad, just as You sent blessings upon the family of Ebraheem. Verily, You are full of praise and majesty.”

Although the wives of Prophet Muhammad   are named as Ahl Al-Bayt in the Ebraheemite Prayer, we would find a better and a clearer declaration that the wives of the Prophet are his household in this narration:

Anas bin Malik reported: “A banquet of bread and meat was held on the occasion of the marriage of the Prophet to Zainab bint Jahsh. I was sent to invite the people (to the banquet), ………. The Prophet left and went towards the dwelling place of Aisha and said, "Peace and Allah's Mercy be on you, O the people of the house!" She replied, "Peace and the mercy of Allah be on you too. How did you find your wife? May Allah bless you. Then he went to the dwelling places of all his other wives and said to them the same as he said to Aisha and they said to him the same as Aisha had said to him.” (Saheeh Al-Bukhari, Tafseer Al-Quran,

Surat Al-Ahzab), (Al-Nisa’ei, Work of the day and night, 271)

In the hadeeth of Al-Efk (the narration of the Lie), the Prophet  , while he was on the pulpit narrating charges of adultery from Ubaydillah bin Abi Salool against the Mother of Beleivers, Aisha, says: “O people give me your opinion regarding those people who made a forged story against my family. By Allah, I do not know anything bad about her. By Allah, they accused her of being with a man about whom I have never known anything bad, and he never entered my house unless I was present there, and whenever I went on a journey, he went with me” (Saheeh Al-Bukhari, Tafseer AL-Quran, Surat AL-Nour)

Now, let us see what language has to say about this issue. Arabic Language scholars are very clear in identifying the wives of a man as his household. Ibn Manthoor says in the Tongue of the Arabs (Lisan Al-Arab): “Ahl Al-Bayt: its dwellers, Ahl Al-Rajul (family of a man) is the closest people to him, and the household of Prophet Muhammad may Allah have peace on him is his wives, his daughters, and his son-in-law who is Ali bin Abi Talib”

Al-Fayrooz Al-A’abadi says in Qamoos Al-Muheet: “Ahl Al-Amr is its rulers, Ahl Al-Bayt is its dwellers, Ahl  Al-Mathhab (sect) is its who believe in it, Ahl Al-Rajul is his wife, and Ahl Al-Nabi is his wives, his daughters, and his son-in-law i.e. Ali may Allah be pleased of him.”

Al-Zubaydi says in Taj Al-Aroos (The Bride’s Crown): “Ahl Al-Mathhab is its believers, Ahl Al-Rajul is his wife and children, and this is how the verse: “and was travelling with his family” is explained as his wives and family. Ahl Al-Nabi is his wives, daughters, and his son-in-law Ali. It was said that the descendant of a man is Ahl Al-Rajul. In the Quran: “Enjoin prayer on thy family, and be constant therein,” “And Allah only wishes to remove all abomination from you, ye Members of the Family, and to make you pure and spotless,” and “let mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you Ahl Al-Bayt, He is the most benign and most exalted.”

In addition to the Prophetic narrations and to the Arabic Language scholars’ sayings, the Quran itself testifies that wives are included in the phrase “Ahl A-Bayt.”

The Quran called Prophets’ wives as their household. Allah says: “so he said to his family, "Tarry ye; I perceive a fire; perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire”. And it is known that only Musa’s wife was with him and no one else. And Musa has no chidren.

In the story of Zaleekha, the wife of Al-Azeez, when she wanted to temp Yousif, Allah says: “She said: "What is the (fitting) punishment for one who formed an evil design against thy family, but prison or agrievous chastisement?"

Also, Allah says: “Now when Moses had fulfilled the term, and was travelling with his family.” Al-Qumi says in his Tafseer: “When the time had come, Mousa took his wife, Shu’ayb provided Mousa, and Mousa lead his goats. When Mousa wanted to leave, Shu’ayb told him: “Go, Allah made it privately for you.” Therefore, Mosa lead his goats aiming Egypt. Mousa and his wife were in a place when a cold breeze, wind and darkness stroked Mousa and his family. Then, Mousa saw a fire, where Allah said the verse: “Now when Moses had fulfilled the term, and was travelling with his family.”

Included in the term “Ahl Al-Bayt” are Ali, Al-Hasan, Al-Hussain, and Fatima, may Allah be pleased with them all as it is mentioned in Hadeeth Al-Kisa’a (the narration of the cloak) that is narrated by Muslim. The mother of Believers, Aisha says: “One day, the messenger of Allah left the house at the afternoon and he was wearing a cloak. Then Hasan bin Ali came and the Prophet took him under his cloak. Next Hussain bin Ali came and the Prophet took him under his cloak. After that Fatima came and the Prophet took her under his cloak. Finally, Ali came, and the Prophet took him under his cloak. Then the Prophet said: “And Allah only wishes to remove all abomination from you, ye Members of the Family, and to make you pure and spotless”

Even the Qur'an seriously disrespects the "Sunni Sahaba", you know, the ones who doubted the Prophet, ran from battles, etc...

What if we were living at the time of Prophet. Would we have been perfect? A lot of us would behave the exact way as the sahaba did.

The disscussion raises the following obvious questions:

1- The quran uses th therm Ahl al bayat twice only, once for the family of Abraham and second for the family of Muhammad, no where else this has been used. If the wife of propet Abraham as is included in Ahl albayat only beacsue she is the mother of his son Issac, then what is the logical reason that all the wives of the prophet who did not give birth to any son are icluded in   Ahl al bayat ?

2- I have mentioned the verses of quran that are relevant and hadith text that clearly mention wr to Sahih Muslim that here it is meant that Ahl al baayt are those on whom the charity is forbidden. What is the reason then to include the wives in Ahl al bayat?

Sahih Muslim, Book 031, Number 5920:
Yazid b. Hayyan reported, I went along with Husain b. Sabra and 'Umar b. Muslim to Zaid b. Arqam
and, as we sat by his side, Husain said to him: Zaid. you have been able to acquire a great virtue
that you saw Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) listened to his talk, fought by his side in
(different) battles, offered prayer behind me. Zaid, you have in fact earned a great virtue. Zaid, narrate
to us what you heard from Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him). He said: I have grown
old and have almost spent my age and I have forgotten some of the things which I remembered in
connection with Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him), so accept whatever I narrate to you,
and which I do not narrate do not compel me to do that. He then said: One day Allah's Messenger
(may peace be upon him) stood up to deliver sermon at a watering place known as Khumm situated
between Mecca and Medina. He praised Allah, extolled Him and delivered the sermon and. exhorted
(us) and said: Now to our purpose. O people, I am a human being. I am about to receive a messenger
(the angel of death) from my Lord and I, in response to Allah's call, (would bid good-bye to you), but
I am leaving among you two weighty things: the one being the Book of Allah in which there is right
guidance and light, so hold fast to the Book of Allah and adhere to it. He exhorted (us) (to hold fast)to the Book of Allah and then said: The second are the members of my household I remind you (ofyour duties) to the members of my family. He (Husain) said to Zaid: Who are the members of his
household? Aren't his wives the members of his family? Thereupon he said: His wives are the membersof his family (but here) the members of his family are those for whom acceptance of Zakat isforbidden. And he said: Who are they? Thereupon he said: 'Ali and the offspring of 'Ali, 'Aqil and theoffspring of 'Aqil and the offspring of Ja'far and the offspring of 'Abbas. Husain said: These are thosefor whom the acceptance of Zakat is forbidden. Zaid said: Yes.

Sahih Muslim, Book 031, Number 5923:
Yazid b. Hayyan reported: We went to him (Zaid b. Arqam) and said to him. You have found
goodness (for you had the honour) to live in the company of Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon
him) and offered prayer behind him, and the rest of the hadith is the same but with this variation of
wording that lie said: Behold, for I am leaving amongst you two weighty things, one of which is the
Book of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, and that is the rope of Allah. He who holds it fast would be
on right guidance and he who abandons it would be in error, and in this (hadith) these words are
also found: We said: Who are amongst the members of the household? Aren't the wives (of the HolyProphet) included amongst the members of his house hold? Thereupon he said: No, by Allah, a womanlives with a man (as his wife) for a certain period; he then divorces her and she goes back to herparents and to her people; the members of his household include his ownself and his kith and kin(who are related to him by blood) and for him the acceptance of Zakat is prohibited.

3- Where is the authentic hadith text  with comepelte refrence with the cliam of the wives that they are included in Ahl albayat?

4- Since the blessings are just sent upon Muhammad saww and his progeny during sunni prayers and not upon his companions or wives in prayers,  When the prayers in this manner can be complete without sending blessings to companions or wives, why does Sunnis add the names of these groups to Durood on occasions other than prayer?

5-Mention a saheeh and authentic text hadith of the holy prophet saww with complete source wherein it is reported that it is obligatory to send Durood upon all the companions or wives of the holy prophet saww. And also tell if it is obligatory then how can your prayers be in order without them?

6-The material you have posted is a nice eefort but sorry to mention it do not quote the Book no, volume no, hadith no or page noof the Saheeh Bukhari. This shows lesser authenctiy of the text quoted.

It is stated in ash-Shifa of Qadi 'Iyad (رحمه الله): Imaam Malik (رحمه الله) said, "Whoever reviles any of the companions of the prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) - Abu bakr, umar, uthman, mu'awiya or amr ibn al-as (رضي الله عنهم) - is killed if he says that they were subject to misguidance or disbelief.

You talk about the Iranian rap artist, well there are a lot of stories like this and their purpose is only to damage Iran's reputation globally. What is the actual story and what reality lies behind it is another thing, that needs to be thoroughly and properly investigated. Shahin Najafi, why has this man been arrested and what charges have been brought against him, needs to be looked into with great detail. It's very easy to speculate on gossip and rumours. Well you said it yourself " In fact he never insulted Imaam Naqi ". Again what is his punishment and why is he punished, needs to be investigated.

ISahaba don't belong to the Sunnis and are certainly not their private possession. Criticism and condemnation is allowed as long as it is fair, just and within reason and so is cursing, which is serious so therefore must have a serious enough reason and cause. Sunnis shouldn't get emotional over every situation, especially if things don't go their way or differ from them. By all means you can stay deluded about the status of the Sahaba but try and understand this, that the Shias have a right to their thought, opinion and point of view regarding what ever and who ever.

There are people out there who call Yazeed Hazrath and (ra). They believe Yazeed was the truely elected Khalif and Hazrath Imaam Hussaim (as) was on the wrong, since he rebelled against him. You don't see Shias going on a killing spree over this do you??? The Iranian revolution was, is and will remain a serious threat to the west and its allies. After the Iranian revolution Islam and the Muslims were taken seriously because before the revolution Islam and the Muslims were represented by puppets (Arabian governments), who just sided with the west and who jumped and hopped to their nod.

But one country (Iran) can't get far and won't have a lasting effect, unless the others put their differences aside and unite for greater and common cause but as you know that the Arab governments have always been too daft and stupid to understand this.

I have already told you that Ahl of Musa was his wife and he had no children.

It is not necessary that Ahl e Bayet is used as a compliment. The Prophet said that a person from his Ahl e bayet will cause fitna :shifty:

كِتَاب الْفِتَنِ [وَالْمَلاحِمِ] }

From 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar, radhiyallahu 'anhu, who said: "We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wa-sallam, and he mentioned the fitan, and mentioned many of them, until he mentioned the fitnah of al-Ahlas. So someone said: "O Messenger of Allah, and what is the fitnah of al-Ahlas?" He said: "It is fleeing and plunder. Then the fitnah of as-Sarra', its corruption will from under the feet of a man from my household, who claims to be from me, but he is not from me, for my allies are only the pious. Then the people will unite on the leadership of a man like a hip-bone on a rib. Then the fitnah of ad-Duhayma', which will not leave a single one from this Ummah without giving him a slap. Whenever it is said that it has finished, it will continue longer. A man during it will be a mu'min in the morning and a kafir in the evening, until the people become two camps, a camp of faith with no hypocrisy, and a camp of hypocrisy with no faith. When that happens, then await the Dajjal on that day or the next." Narrated by Abu Dawud, kitab al-fitan.

Ibn Asakir in his “Arbain fi ummahatil muminin” (p 137, hadis 28) narrated from Umm Salama:

“While the messenger of Allah (pbuh) was in my house one day, the servant came and said: “Ali and Fatima are at the door”. He said: “Withdraw”, and I withdrew to a corner of a house. Ali and Fatima enter with Hasan and Husayn who were young children. He took Hasan and Husayn and sat them in his lap, and embraced Ali and brought him to him, and took Fatima with his other arm and embraced them both and kissed them. He draped a black cloak over them and said: “O Allah to you, not to the fire, both myself an my family”. Umm Salama said: “And I messenger of Allah?”. He said: “And you”.

Ibn Asakir said hadith sahih.

And at next page he said:“It is related by another route in which he said: “You are part of my family

Book of Marriage..  3328

Anas said: I also saw the wedding feast of Zainab, and he (the Holy Prophet) served bread and meat to the people, and made them eat to their heart’s content, and he (the Holy Prophet) sent me to call people, and as he was free (from the ceremony) he stood up and I followed him. Two persons were left and they were busy in talking and did not get out (of the apartment). He (the Holy Prophet) then proceeded towards (the apartments of) his wives. He greeted with as-Salamu ‘alaikum to every one of them and said: Members of the household, how are you?? They said: Messenger of Allah, we are in good state ‘How do you find your family? He would say: In good state.

Here Prophet [saw] greeted his wives as “Assalamu’alaikum. Kaifa antum ya Ahlal Bayt“

We send durood to  ( AAlle Rasool). The ‘aale-Rasool’ could mean either the family or descendants of the Prophet (saws), or the followers and the Ummah of the Prophet (saws).

Chapter 40 Surah Mumin verses 45-46:

45      Then Allah saved him from (every) ill that they plotted (against him), but the brunt of the Penalty encompassed on all sides the ‘Ale-Firaun’ (People and followers of the Pharaoh)

When reciting the ‘durood’ taught by the Messenger of Allah (saws),  the term ‘Aale Mohamed’ would include his wives, his children, his descendants, his family, his sahabees (companions), and all the righteous followers of Prophet Mohamed (saws).

Fiqh-us-Sunnah Fiqh 4.136a

Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet (saws), said, "Whoever desires to be given (his reward) in full measure, should send salutations to us - the members of my family - and should say, 'O Allah, shower blessings upon Muhammad, the Prophet, his wives, the mothers of the believers, his descendants, and the members of his family, as you showered blessings upon the family of Ibrahim. You are the Praiseworthy and Glorious."

They are not stories, but he has three death fatwas. . Last May, at least three ayatollahs called for his execution after he released a song they interpreted as insulting to Shia Islam’s 10th Imam. A website offered $100,000 to whoever pulled the trigger
