Is It Permissible To Neuter My Cat?

I have been researching on the internet as would like to ask here as well.

I have seen a detailed response at Islamqa.com, but would like to see if our Marjas have anything on it.

Basically me and my family would like to neuter my 8-month old kitten/cat, she is treated as good as we can, so ofcourse no unjust treatment is upon her.

The only reason I wish to neuter her is that she will get cranky soon, might have other complications and if she is to have the 5-cat litter, I would have to take care of 'em all, or give them away.

If the litter or multiple litters are mistreated, then it is upon me.

Therefore my question, as we treat her very kindly and with love, can we neuter her?

I've tried checking Sayed Fadlullah's, Sayed Sistani's, and Sayed Khamenei's websites, but I couldn't find anything about it. You can ask them questions though, they normally answer within a week or so. Well Sayed Fadlullah's office does. I neutered my male cat a while ago, because we were advised to by many vets etc, and not neutering him would have had negative health and behavioural effects for him. Despite this, we still felt incredibly bad lol.

If you don't mind waiting a week or so, it wouldn't hurt to ask your marja.

My cat came spayed (the girl version of neutered). Adopt from the shelter insha'Allah. It's only like $30 adoption fee and they already have all the vaccinations + spay/neuter + microchip for you. Way cheaper than having a vet do all of that stuff for a cat you get elsewhere.
