Ibn Hajar And Muwatta Malik

(bismillah) (salam) Did Ibn Hajar ever say the whole of Muwatta Malik was authentic? Im asking this because if he did, this would cast serious doubts on sunni ilm ur rijal since ibn hajar seems to be one of the greatest and most relied upon muhadditheen. And we know all the mursal and maqtu hadiths of Imam Malik. Any references from Ibn Hajar's works would be appreciated.

Wa 'alaykum salaam

Not necessarily. There are many 'versions' of the Muwatta and although Yahya b. Yahya al-Laythi's version seems to be unanimously approved as the 'most authentic', the very fact that there are other versions may lead to the invalidity of your conclusion about Ibn Hajar. Because if he did in fact say this about the Muwatta, it could be about another version!
