Abu Bakr, Umar Addressed As Believers In 49:1-3

In sura 49:1-3 Allah( SWT) adresses the sheikhains as believers, according to bukhari the 2 raised their voices.

In the verse in question, if Abu Bakr and Umar are NOT Believers.

Why Does Allah (SWT) address them as Believers?

Would like some thoughts on this.

[49:1] O you who believe, do not place your opinion above that of GOD and His messenger. You shall reverence GOD. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient.

[49:2] O you who believe, do not raise your voices above the voice of the prophet, nor shall you shout at him as you shout at each other, lest your works become nullified while you do not perceive.

You'd need a better source than bukhari if you want to convince anyone here

because being a believer is a state , and dont forget they were around the Prophet, they witnessed miracles and much proof, and this unveiled their hearts, but unfortunately they couldn't keep the faith, they instead followed their desires and failed

Why did not they demolish the Kabaa after the death of the Prophet? Why did not they stop praying at all? Why did not they utterly destroy Islam as they could because they were in authority? No proof of any financial or moral corruption against Omar and Abu Bakr during their reign has ever been brought up.

I am a Muslim right now. If I go out and become a Hindu and start worshiping the Hindu gods, am I still a Muslim? Once a Muslim doesn't mean that they will always be Muslims ...

As far as I know both sunnies and shias believe that Qur'an is complete and absolute. So you are saying that there is an error in the Qur'an? or maybe you are implying that Allah doesn't have the ultimate knowledge. Therefore, He didn't know that Abu Bakar (ra), Umar (ra), Ansars (ra), and Mahajireens (ra) would go astray?

"...but unfortunately they couldn't keep the faith, they instead followed their desires and failed." Can you please elaborate a bit more?

just never forget people we are brothers and sisters and Allah has ordered us in the Quran

"Hold fast onto the rope of Allah and do not divide into sects..."

also

"As for those who divide their religion and break up into sects, thou hast no part in them in the least(addressing Muhammad): their affair is with Allah: He will in the end tell them the truth of all that they did. 6:159"

Do you have tafseer qummi in english?

Assalamu 'alaykum

No, sorry, only part of it.

Here is another tafseer explaining the same :

From Jameel Bin Daraaj:

‘Abu Abdullah (asws) said, ‘Al-Tayyaar came up to him (asws), so he asked him (asws) and I was in his (asws) presence, ‘May I be sacrificed for you (asws), do you (asws) see that the Statement of the Mighty and Majestic: “[66:6] O you who believe!”, and in another place where the Believers are addressed, are the hypocrites included in this?’

The Imam (asws) replied: ‘Yes, the hypocrites are included in this, and the strayed ones, and everyone who accepted the Call apparently’. (Bihar, Al-Kafi, Tafseer Al-'Ayyashi)
