In Youtube's Terms of Service, it states that "You shall not download any Content unless you see a “download” or similar link displayed by YouTube on the Service for that Content." Based upon that, is it considered forbidden in Islam to download videos or a video's audio from Youtube exclusively for one's personal use? I was perplexed over this matter and I always had second thoughts when I wanted to download latmiyyat from Youtube. Thank you for your answers in advance.

Do you have an android phone? If so, follow these steps

Personally i dont see the difference between watching a video on youtube or storing it on your device for viewing at a later time. As long as copyright laws are not being affected then you have nothing to worry about it.

Is there a legal statement supporting your claim (i.e. copyright laws are not violated when the video is for personal use exclusively) , it would be of great help, thank you.

Its a personal opinion so i have no legal statement for it.

Youtube and Android both are google products and android allows you to prefetch data on a fast connection so it can be viewed later. The way i see it is the same, You are downloading videos/audios on a fast connection to preserve your mobile data. This is fully supported by google so i dont see why you need any further express permission on this.

Latmiyyat have no copyright issues as they are freely available to masses for religious purposes so there is no issue there either. If it makes you feel any better buy his/her cd.
