Last Sajda Of Prayer

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Hello, You know how we say " ya lateef irham abdak altha'eef" in the last sajda of prayer. I was wondering can you say something else like for example a dua, asking Allah to make you succeed in life. Do we have to ask for rahma or can it be anything.

Thanks.

Salam,

Based on the information I collected from ulema, YES you can.

Although I personally limit personal duas in languages other than Arabic in qunoot only.

As far as OP, one of the most mustahib dikr in sujood and ruku' is salawat besides the wajib words that you must say anyway.

Confirm from an alim near you though :)

in my last sajda i say:

Ya Latif irham 'abdika al daeef, zaleel o haqeer o miskeen. Ya Wali ul Aafeeya, nasalooka al afyia, aafyia tul deeni wal dunya wal akhira, behaqi 'itratehe al-taahira. Rabbi la takilni ila nafsi tarfata aenin abada. Rabana amilna bi fazlika ya kareem, wala tu amilna bi adlika ya raheem.

Its a combination of all the small duas or part of duas i love.

jazakalllahh khair brother

where can we find the actual link for these dua?

I have gathered these from listening lectures over time. Basically, you should look for duas that help you estalish a really close connection to Allah ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáì.

Example: Rabbi la takilni ila nafsi tarfata aenin abada

Lord do not leave me in charge of my affairs even for the blink of an eye

Ya Latif irham 'abdika al daeef, zaleel o haqeer o miskeen. Birahmatika ya arhamaraniheem

O Gentle (one of Names of Allah), I am your weak slave, the wretched, the worthless, the poor/needy. Have mercy on me the Merciful

Ya Wali ul Aafeeya, nasalooka al afyia, aafyia tul deeni wal dunya wal akhira, behaqi 'itratehe al-taahira

Oh, Provider of wellness, we seek from you wellness, the wellness of religion, this world and hereafter , by Mohammad and his pure Progeny.

Rabbi la takilni ila nafsi tarfata aenin abada.

Lord do not leave me in charge of my affairs even for the blink of an eye (one of the lines Lady of Light use to recite. Its part of a dua from Mufatih)

Rabana amilna bi fazlika ya kareem, wala tu amilna bi adlika ya raheem.

Lord judge us by your Mercy, not by your Justice (losely translated. I had to pull out an old urdu lecture and translate it myself. So for the perfect translation ask a scholar as I dont know Arabic)

Hopefully this helps you out

Why is it abdika and not abdaka?

AFAIK, you can recite just about any du'a you want - as long as it is not an ayah or surah from the Qur'aan (keep those for qunoot). It should also be in Arabic, and although most people leave until the final sajda, these du'aat can be recited in every sujood of your salaah if you so please. Of course, because most people simply don't have the time to lengthen their prayers, they leave it until the final one.

Do you have these duas in Arabic brother? Just so that I will pronounce the words correctly.

Salaam,

How would one remember this? I mean its not like you can write it down on a piece of paper and say it when you are in sujood! Would you have to memorise it?

Wasalaam.

From the website of Ayatullah Sistani:

While in Sajdah one should pray to Allah, and express his wishes, and should recite this supplication:

Ya Khayral Mas'ulin wa Ya Khayral Mu'tin, Urzuqni warzuq 'Ayali Min Fazlika Fa Innaka Zulfazlil 'Azim

- O You Who are the best from whom people seek their needs, and O You, Who are the best bestower of gifts! Give me and the members of my family sustenance with Your grace. Undoubtedly You possess the greatest grace.
