(salam),

We're already half-way through the tournament and still no thread?! :o

Where are all the patriotic Indian and Paki cricket fanatics out there?

Here are the team standings for the Group 8 stage:

And of course mother of all matches today... India vs Pakistan at 14 GMT. Follow the live score-card here. There are several websites that are showing live streaming of the matches (Link1, Link2)

India will probably have to win its next two matches to qualify for the semis sitting at the bottom of its group and with a net run rate of -2.506 (the lowest runrate, unfortunately, of both groups), having taken a harsh beating from Australia in its last match. If Australia wins today (2nd inning going on just now vs New Zealand!!) and Pakistan beat India, then Australia and Pakistan go through to the semis.

Pakistan, being the most unpredictable team of the tournament has the numbers in its favor having beaten India in the warmup match. But India has proved in the past that statistics matter little when it bashed the Pakistani team in the ODI WorldCup semis last year.

Let's see what happens! :D Can't wait. Good luck to both teams (I'm especially rooting for Yuvraj on the Indian side because lots of fans and experts seem to be insisting upon dropping him from the team!)

India needs to stay for the tourni to produce profits.

It's all about business, folks.

Oh whateverrr.

Last year there was major controversy when an alleged 'match-fixer' said on Indian television that he is a hundred percent sure that Pakistan is beating India. Didn't happen.

You'll probably still have an excuse if Pakistan wins. :P

By the way, the last three supposedly hair raising encounters have turned out to be lousy one sided games. Hated them big time including the one that just finished b/w Kangaroos and Proteas.

The latter are renowned for their fielding and look how they played toward the end of the match as if trying hard to lose the match - losers.

Oh what is happening out in the field? Whenever the ball is in the air my heart stops and i gasp.

Cricket fever at my place. We all are enthused and jumping up and down. Screams of joy at 4s and 6s. And wails of grief on every soldier out.

aussies by far the best team so far. watson being the best performer by making the most runs and taking the most wickets. pakistand will have to play their best to beat aussies. Watson and warner being the dangerous batsmen and; starc, cummins and watson being the dangerous bowlers. They skittled pakistan for a total of around 80 just before the tournament started. If pakistan lose very marginally and south africa beat india very marginally then pakistan could go through despite losing.

Pakis wil let India win to keep 'em afloat.

If India lose, they are out of the tourni.

And it means big loss of ad revenues for massive Indian market.

India needs to stay for the tourni to produce profits.

It's all about business, folks.

There you have it guys.

It couldn't even be a close finish like 2007 T20 cup final, remember that one?

This type of performance by Pakistan was nothing new. The problem is that when we win matches, we are generally winning due to sheer talent or a bit of luck going our way (or mere under performance by the other team). The Pakistani team doesn't really have solid technique, frame-work or strategy - and most of all they have no ability to play under pressure. They are mentally weak. That's why when ever we get exposed and succumb to pressure we tend to annihilate ourselves. This unfortunately is nothing new for our team, but nothing has been done to fix this mentality either for more than a decade that I've seen them play cricket.

If you look at most of the defeats of Pakistan against not just India, but against any team in the world; the type of performance they give during those defeats is very similar. Usually unable to chase low targets, or collapsing due to a poor opening partnership, so on and so forth.

Wassalam
