Who Are The Orthodox Muslims?

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

The sunni's will say they are orthodox.

The shia's will say they are

If you believe in imamat, shia are. If you don't , sunni's are.

Whabbi's - i don't know any about them, apart from the fact they only Ask Allah swt, and not mortal men who need God's help. (which is what i as a shia do anyway)

Shias are shias of Ali not Shias of Muhammad s.a.w. And Ali was born almost 30 years after Muhammad s.a.w, that makes us Orthodox :)

What exactly is orthodox about your sect? Did the early Muslims call themselves Ahl as-Sunna wa 'l-Jama`a? Because the earliest written record of this term was over 200 years after the Prophet (pbuh). Is it the belief in Bukhari and Muslim and all of the hadiths therein? Because both were written 200 years after the Prophet (pbuh). Is it the belief in the four madhahab? Because the last of the four imams did not die until almost 250 years after the Prophet (pbuh). Is it the belief in Ash`ari theology? Because it was not drawn up until over 300 years after the Prophet (pbuh).

Western academics did not consider the early Muslims to be "Sunnis" as you understand it. The average Muslim living 100 years after the Prophet was not an Ash`ari, not a Hanafi/Shafi`i/Hanbali/Maliki, did not read the Sihah as-Sitta, and did not call himself a Sunni. Even if some of his political beliefs aligned with Sunnis (belief in the khilafa of the 3 and Banu Umayya) they did not share much with modern Sunnis at all. Many ancient "Sunnis" were Murji`i and Mu`tazili, who would be considered heretics by modern Ahl as-Sunna. Many in Iraq leaned more towards Sufism, Zaydism, and Imamism. Many in Shaam were nawasib who would curse `Ali (as) routinely at every jum`a prayer. There were a few famous narrators of hadith in Sunni books who were open Rawafid (politically Shi`i). This is why academics have resorted to use terms like "Marwanid", "Hadith Folk", "proto-Sunni", etc. The jama`a were not united on anything other than their non-Shiism.

The Prophet (pbuh) defined orthodoxy to us by telling us what to clutch onto when he dies. The famous sahih mutawatir hadith says to hold onto the Qur'an and Ahl al-Bayt; which are united until the qiyama. Anyone who goes astray from this has strayed from Islam. There have been people who claimed to be Shi`a that are among the astray, but in theory, anyone who takes the message of the Prophet and the pure Imams are the orthodox.

hardly

you are accepting a fabricated hadith over the true one just to avoid to follow his sunnah

Prophet said that there are 2 main things that should be followed to avoid getting lost

Quran

his household

but as a followers of those who prefer power over truth, you decided to over throw the household who lost the sword battles and follow the money seeker and power seeker like Mo'aweyah and other corrupted rulers

you had invented this new hadith that says that the 2 main things that the Ummah should stick to are Quran and Sunnah

Prophet Sunnah is to follow his household

thus Shia of Ali are the true followers of Sunnah of prophet

i dont see how can a disbelievr in one of prophet orders be a follower of Mohammad

simply absurd

Imam Ali (as) was born 30 years after the Prophet (pbuh), who raised Imam Ali again? How can Salafies be Orthodox when

1) The Bid'ah of "as-Salaatu Khairal Minanawm" was never present during the lifetime of the Prophet?

2) The Bid'ah of Taraweeh was never present during the Prophet's lifetime?

3) The Bid'ah of banning Mut'ah was by 'Umar al-Khattab and not the Prophet?

Does that not make you Shi'a of 'Umar?

Muhammad bin Ali narrates in Tafsir ibne Jarir, Volume 33 page 146 (Cairo edition) that the Prophet (saww) said:

"The best of creations are you Ali and your Shi'as".

Ahmad ibn Hajr al Makki quotes from Imam Dar Qatany in his al Sawaiq al Muhriqah page 159 (Cairo edition):

"O Abul Hasan you and your Shi'a will attain paradise".

Ibn Hajr narrates from Ali [as] in Sawaiq al Muhriqah page 513:

"Holy Prophet said to Ali [as]: "O Ali! You will come infront of Allah. And your Shia will be pleased and liked (favourite) and your enemies will be tied up infront on him in anger." And then Ali placed his hands behind his head on his neck to demonstrate in the manner his enemies will be tied up."

Many hadith where that came from. But of course you are going to resort to your usual excuse, "the hadith are not true because it was through a Shi'a."

Please...

We don't call ourselves Shia of Abu Bakr or Umar. But you call yourselves Shias of Ali. You don't call yourselves Shias of Muhammad (s.a.w). Which is even funnier, because you are supposed to call yourselves Shias of Mahdi as he is your present Imam. And if you're still shias of Ali then why made up the rest of Eleven Imams. Isn't Ali enough for you?

^ why so insecure? Are you jealous that our Imams are the best and your heroes abu bark and umar are not even worth the dust under our Imams feet?

We call ourselves shia of Allah, shia of holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), shia of bibi Fatima (as) bint e Muhammad (pbuh) and Shia of Ali (as), all the way upto shia of Imam Mehdi (as) :) No wonder we are also known as SHIA ITHNA ASHARI !!!!
