(bismillah) (salam) In the past I've made threads quoting ayats from the Qur'an stating that we should only call on Allah ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáì. Some people have responded by stating that these verses were directed at the mushrik Arabs and don't apply to modern Shia beliefs about the Imams (as). This argument can be refuted by simply noting that the Imams (as) used some of these verses to refute the ghular, but I think it would also be worthwhile to see what it was exactly that those Arabs believed.
