I have have quite a while been thinking of Imam Mahdi (a.s) appearance,first how will we recognise the real Imam,what about Dajjal,who is he? is he leaving, is he in ghabah?

firstly there are some traditions giving some signals including his appearance, personality etc.

there is one important fact I'd like to mention: by the time of our prophet many people accept Islam even though they were not told about his evidences. they were just truthful and honest. their heart were in the right place, they listened to prophet's word and accept without a doubt. they find him sincere and genuine.

but there were also some Jews who were told about last prophet's signals, which is why they moved to Mecca but they refuse to accept. only a few of them accept.

 

I don't mean we shouldn't study and read about signals for his reappearance.

to know our Imam is the best thing we could do.

we like him so we do like to know more about him.

but besides we have to strengthen our beliefs through performing praying and ...... so we would be one of his best servants.

though before that they were asking for a signal triumph over those who disbelieved - and when there cometh unto them that which they know (to be the truth) they disbelieve therein. The curse of Allah is on disbelievers.

The concept of akhir uz zaman does not have the exact equivalent of appearance of Imam al Mahdi (as). Actually there may be some traditions referring to the appearance of Imam uz Zaman (as) by the word “akhir uz zaman” but they differs from each other.

 

Akhir az zaman equals the end of the entire world and then starting the hereafter while the appearance of Imam Mahdi will be so many years before that. 

 

But on the other hand we have many hadiths which mentions the period of Imam Mahdi as akhar uz zaman.

 

So as the conclusion, Akhar uz zaman has two meanings and we should be aware of that.

We can recognize the Imam (the real person) by the real events happening in the time, like an unusual eclipse of the Sun and the Moon, heavenly acclaim, appearance of Dajjāl and Sofyani and other signs. Also Imam al Mahdi (as) will have the miraculous power which no one has, and so he will do such actions that prove he is the last Imam if it is needed.

First: Dajjāl is a name for a person but not a specific one so it includes all individuals who mislead people and delude the society.

 

Second: Dajjāl is an immoral culture and stream of abuse which deceive humanity.

 

So Dajjāl may be alive but the culmination of its activity will be at the time of Imam Mahdi (as).

So what about the belief that Dajjal is a person with one eye. And he will act as anti Christ. Bring dead from their graves. Make rain fall.
