Kissing Marjae Hand?

Obviously some don't like you to kiss their hands. See a video of Sistani pulling his hands here

It's mostly cultural to show respect. But I think there's some objection to it.

Okay, so I saw this video today about Putin pulling his hand away when the priest tried to kiss his hand. See his expression.

Thank you sister! I always thought Sayed Sistani allowed people to kiss his hand, I think I saw a video of it? But the video you provided showed the opposite...

So its all based on culture and not religion huh, because I'm sure we have big-time marjae in the past who allowed it. So its not that it's haraam huh?

(bismillah)

why do some marjae allow followers to kiss their hand and others don't?

It is how people interpret this hadeeth, click here: http://www.revivingalislam.com/2011/05/kissing-hand-of-scholars.html

According to al-Shahrudi he says this after mentioning the authentic hadeeth of not kissing the hand of anyone except the Prophet or "one who is intended to be for the Messenger of Allah” (i.e. A'immah):

ÞÇá ÈÚÖ ÇáãÍÞÞíä : áÚá ÇáãÑÇÏ Èãä ÃÑíÏ Èå ÑÓæá Çááå ¡ ÇáÃÆãÉ ÇáãÚÕæãæä ( Úáíåã ÇáÓáÇã ) ßãÇ íÓÊÝÇÏ ãä ÇáÍÏíË ÇáÂÊí ¡ æíÍÊãá Ôãæá ÇáÍßã ááÚáãÇÁ ÈÇááå æÈÃãÑ Çááå ÇáÚÇãáíä ÈÚáãåã æÇáåÇÏíä ááäÇÓ ããä æÇÝÞ Þæáå ÝÚáå ¡ æåÄáÇÁ æÑËÉ ÇáÃäÈíÇÁ ÝáÇ íÈÚÏ ÏÎæáåã Ýíãä íÑÇÏ Èåã ÑÓæá Çááå

al-Shahrudi, Mustadarak Safeenah Bihaar, vol. 8, pg. 399

He says that it is "probable to include the `ulemaa", and that "they are the heirs of the Prophets".

I am not entirely sure about the origin of the hand kissing. I can't really pass a judgment on it since I am not a marja.

If some marajas say you can kiss their hands, and you are a follower of that marja, then go for it.
