The medals list is showing a lot of surprises. China and the US are having a bit of rivarly to become the top country with the most medals.

Russia is failing miserably. Putin orders analysis of Russia's Olympic results :squeez:

Usain Bolt won another gold medal for 200m. A person has accused him of using steroids. He strike back yesterday after winning his medal.

"I've lost all respect, all respect," he tells USA Today. "I'm going to say something controversial right now. Carl Lewis, I have no respect for him. The things he says about the track athletes is really downgrading for another athlete to say something like that. I think he's just looking for attention, really, because nobody really talks much about him."

I didn't watch much TV yesterday, but I saw a session of extreme cycling and canoeing. That was fun to watch.

If Iran doesn't get more medals I'm gonna kill myself

What other sport events do you have?

Iranians did very poor in TKD this time... usually they get the most gold/medals+ from TKD in Asian or Olympics games, and are currently men's world champions...!!!!

After all this is the most successful one for Iran in the history of Olympics... or for any Muslim country, especially if they get a few more medals in freestyle wrestling in the last few days.

In Tae Kwon Do and Judo they are very spontaneous. In one Olympic you will see gold, in some other years sometimes just bronze or even nothing. I wish they were more consistent but in these particular events unlike wrestling it is very black and white. Usually they might send 1-2 qualifiers and all hopes rest on that sparse few.

Tomorrow in freestyles are the 60 kg, 84 kg, and 120 kg. We have no favorites in these particular weights. If we can get any medals in any of these I'm more than happy.

The day after we'll have our favorites in the 66 kg and to some extent 96 kg. Hope we can get at least one gold in one of these since the competitors available in these ones are more fierce than the ones our Greco-Roman guys had.

I was a little but disappointed that one of our guys was robbed by a Russian referee in one of the wrestling events. But other then that for the most part I'm really satisfied. Iran did well qualitatively and quantitatively in the medal count. This was by far their best Olympic.

Question:

What happens when a Muslim man wins a gold medal? (well at least the ones who practise Islam)

Do they just hand it to them, or is it in a different category from jewellery, thus allowed?

P.S. No I'm not going up for the Olympics, I was just wondering.

It was upsetting. It's not the first time western countries doing such horrible thing though, they've done it in the past too.

Salam most important point is allowing participating IDF soldiers in Olympic games  while according to Olympic games rules Russia has been banned from participation in it which in similar fashion zionist Israel must be banned from Paris's Olympic Games  too while based on double standards of Westerners it has not been banned from Paris's Olympic Games as same as Russia which Iran has asked for banning zionist Israel which because Iran has no agent in Olympic Games headquarter also due to silence of all muslim counties about it  banning zionist Israel has not been done .

Guardian gets a bit shy

Olympics camera operators told to avoid sexism.

The Guardian does not say this, but what's actually been going on (based on clips shared on social media) is that some operators are focusing in on certain parts of women's bodies.

Quote

He said the problem was mainly down to “unconscious bias”, with camera operators and TV editors tending to show more closeup shots of women than men.

Combined with the controversy about revealing sport suits for women, this puts into context the debate about athletes' hijab.

I haven't really been following it, but that's mostly because my country (Canada) is far better at winter sports. Because of this I have far more interest in the winter Olympics. We rarely win that many medals in the summer Olympics. I did, however, hear about the Israeli team getting absolutely roasted by the spectators. That would have been great to see as I don't believe they should have even been allowed to compete in the first place (but of course the western world is run by Zionists so they were going to let Israel in regardless).

This is actually a very important post. Just because a man looks feminine or a woman looks masculine it doesn't mean they're trans. Genetics can often play a role, as well as certain health conditions. It's actually very harmful to automatically assume that these people are trans. Most of the time they're not.

Iranian taekwondo athlete Mobina Nematzadeh earned a bronze medal in the 49-kg category at the Paris Olympics after defeating Saudi Arabia's Dunya Abutaleb 2-0.

This marks the second medal for Iran at this year's Olympics, and Nematzadeh's achievement makes her only the second Iranian woman to win an Olympic medal in history.
