I think Torres will succeed. Unlike Villa he's not as arrogant. Even through the tough times he has belief in himself and he knocked us (Barcelona) out.

I never underestimate him even if has a poor game or even a season.

The only problem is there really isn't another forward at Chelsea which is ridiculous.

They should pursue Llorente or the better more complete option of Hulk who can do many things.

I still don't like David Luiz lol but maybe after the CL triumph he'll enter the season as a more confident defender lol.

Torres is class, both him and Caroll are struggling because of their high price tags (which neither was worth) but he looks like he's coming good. And though arrogant you have to admit David Villa is easily one of the best in the world :P

And as for Luiz, he only struggled because of AVB's attacking tactics. Under Di Matteo and Ancellotti hes been perfect, and hes got a decent shot as well.

I don't think you need a new striker in case Torres fails in terms of form but rather if he gets injured, I got a feeling he'll be back to his old self soon enough... (getting Vidic sent off lol)

I'm actually exited for this year's more so than the last few years although the previous years played to the advantage of Barcelona.

This year I'd say it is MUCH MORE open.

I'm not impressed with the Alexander Song signing for Barcelona. I don't see how he will help as a defensive midfielder. He's not at that caliber as say...Yayha Toure was a few years back which complemented the offensive guns in Iniesta and Xavi.

I like Alexis Sanchez but I think this year 2013 Barca will fail to win the champions league. I'm going to say 2014 will be our year when we probably and hopefully get Neymar to replace David Villa. 2013 Barca has a lot of liabilities. Fabregas is on/off, Xavi is declining, Puyol will collect more injuries, key injuries to Dani Alves or Iniesta can destroy our season if they occur. We're no that deep. Messi will have to wait till Neymar takes pressure off his game and fills the void for declining players.

If Chelsea face United in the CL I'd favor United because they have two forwards to rely on instead of one. Not to mention Nemanja Vidic will enter 2013 a lot more stronger because he retired from the Serb NT which means there's a lot less stress on his mind. United happens to do well against Chelsea anytime they face in the CLs...

Bayern Munich seems to spoil Real Madrid almost each and every single time. i don't get it. They have that going for them. They've got a forward in Mandzukic who might do well, but they've also improved their midfield with Shaqiri and Martinez. But against a healthy EPL team they'll probably lose.

Real Madrid is anticipating Modric and they think/believe he will help them force teams to turn over the ball while at the same time setup their quicker pace players like Di Maria, Ronaldo, Ozil with efficient counter attacks.

I guess it will all depend on the draws. Barcelona would probably want to avoid Chelsea (players just rain on Messi). United maybe would want to avoid___? Chelsea would want to avoid United. Bayern would want to avoid Barcelona. Real Madrid probably Bayern Munich.

Manchester City was terrible last year. Maybe they can show up this year? PSG put on quite a # of talent on paper but they need chemistry.

Think 2013 will be United and Madrid in the final with United coming out on top. 2-1 :D

Yh why not Ive got my own dream team atm as well, rooney aguero and jelavic in front, nani hazard and ben arfa in the midfield, i can see myself winning the prize already lol :P but im guessing ur fantasy team is on sky sports right?

And as for champs league, id like to think united will win it but idk if i can see it happening, not this year anyway. Our attack is good but in defence we might become a little stuck, especially against the likes of barca and madrid. and as for barca, i dont think ud have to worry if u came up against chelsea. u now know their game and if u have villa as well up front, things should be easier. and jordi alba is easily one of the best upcoming left backs in the world so ur team is sorted

Jordi Alba will definitely improve our attacking on the left whereas Messi and Dani Alves usually cover the right.

Hopefully Alexander Song is the destroyer these people claim to be. We've done pretty well without a center back to complement Pique.

If Villa does his job, we can definitely win a CL (we did well against Chelsea, a bit unlucky, and Chelsea just swamped us with defenders who did a great job). Some people criticize Alexis Sanchez but IMHO I haven't seen him do anything wrong.

Even in the Chelsea match he created opportunities here and there with some through passes and nice link ups with Messi.

But if Villa can start again and show some of his star form Messi will get more freedom to do whatever he wants.

La Liga race should be tight again for RM/Barca.

I hope Dzeko can make Mancini shut up this season.

Barcelona is coming back together. Our defense is still somewhat suspect. However Iniesta, Messi, look great. I hope Fabregas can get better, he's too passive. Villa is showing some form after coming back from tough injuries. Tello's anticipation is much better to the start of the season.

I give the form an 8/10 at the moment. If Sanchez becomes healthy we should be prepared for la liga and CL.

rumour has it that united to get kaka on a season long loan. wow. would be a great signing but im not sure where he would fit in. Unless we go for a 5 man midfield. Even then, we would need a DM to sit at the top of the defence, and kagawa would be in the CM/AM role, with rooney behind RVP.

United for a top club are terribly weak and lack creativity in the midfield, Kaka would be their best man in the middle if he is healthy.

I'm fine if you guys get Kaka. But just realize his performance will fluctuate. He'll go a couple games straight playing great, a couple games he'll go eating the grass and become completely invisible. Not sure why he's like this, guess the motivation and hunger isn't there as much as it use to be during his AC Milan years.

But hey there's also that Nick Powell guy. If he lives up to expectations that doesn't hurt either.

I use to follow Esteghlal but nowadays I rarely see matches if whenever. I sometimes follow the scorelines to see what's going on. I was shocked to find out that Nekounam was signed by Esteghlal for 9 million dollars for a year. I think that's a ridiculous lump of sum to throw at someone who is clearly past his prime, coming off career ending injuries, etc.
