[i am not the author of this article. I merely copy/pasted from a reliable Dawoodi Bohra source.]

Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem .

(1) Abu Ubaida Saqafi father of Mukhtaar Saqfi (L) was loyal to Caliph Umar, and died fighting for 2nd caliph Umar.

(2) Mukhtaar (L) adviced his uncle, Sa'd bin Masud to get Imam Hasan (a) arrested or killed so to earn favours from Mawiya, the king of time. His uncle refused this advice and sent Laanat on Mukhtar.

(3) Aaisha raised blood coated shirt of Caliph Usman to incite (logo ko bhadkana) and raised people to fight with Mola Ali (a) (ref: battle of Jamal) - Maloon Mukhtaar got inspired by Aaisha and likewise plotted to do politics and exploit the anger running in masses due to murder of Imam Hussain عليه السلام. He incited people to wage war with hidden agenda for himself to become King.

(4) To achieve ambition of becoming King, Mukhtaar (L) appeared in Kufa as a revenger of Hussain's blood. His mission was the same as that of the Tawwabun (the penitents) insofar as the revenge of Hussain's blood, but differed in that he intended to achieve political authority through a more organised military power. Mukhtar, therefore, tried to persuade the Tawwabun not to take any hasty action and to join him for a better chance of success. The Tawwabun refused to join Mukhtar, as they had no wish to participate in any doubtful adventure. Mukhtar also tried to propagate in Kufa that Suleman bin Surad, the leader of the Tawwabun, did not know how to organise the military warfares, nor did he has any knowledge of diplomacy.

(5) Mukhaar (L) then turned to Imam Ali Zayn al-Abidin (a) to seek his support to this effect. Baladhuri writes in "Ansab al-Ashraf" (5th vol., p. 272) that, "Mukhtar wrote to Zayn al-Abidin to show his loyalty to him, asking if he could rally the Kufans for him. He sent with the letter a large sum of money. Imam Ali Zayn al-Abidin (a) refused this offer and declared Mukhtar publicly to be a liar who was trying to exploit the cause of Ahl-al-Bait for his own interests."

(6) Ibn Sa'd (5th vol., p. 213) also describes that Imam Ali Zayn al-Abidin (a) had publicly denounced Mukhtar's mission. Mukhtar lost all hopes of winning Imam Ali Zayn al-Abidin عليه السلام, he then turned to Ibn al-Hanafiya, the third son of Mola Ali (a) from a Hanafite woman.

(7) On his part, Ibn al-Hanafiya did not repudiate Mukhtar's propaganda for his Imamate and Messianic role; he nevertheless, maintained a carefully non-committal attitude and never openly raised his claims to the heritage of Imam Hussain. Baladhuri (5th vol., p. 218) writes that, "Ibn al-Hanafiya gave Mukhtar only a non-committal reply. He neither approved nor disapproved of Mukhtar's intention to avenge Imam Hussain عليه السلام, and only warned him against bloodshed." In the event, however, the hesitation and political inactivity of Ibn al-Hanafiya emboldened Mukhtar more and more to exploit his name for his own interest. Mukhtar propagated that Ibn al-Hanafiya was the Mahdi, and he himself was his minister (vizir) and commander (amir).

(8) Mukhtar (L) seized possession of Kufa in Hijri 66/686 and captured Mesopotamia and some parts of the eastern provinces from the Umayyads mainly in the name of the blood of Imam Hussain عليه السلام. In Kufa, he continued his mission in the name of Ibn al-Hanafiya.

(9) After maneuvers Mukhataar (L) achieved his desire and hidden ambition by declaring himself as the King.

(10) Lets leave aside all the references from Bohras / Sunnis / Isnasharis / etc and just focus on the simplest and undisputed facts: Imam Ali Zain ul Abedeen (a) alone was enough powerful and mighty to single handedly kill the entire army of Yazeed or whole world put together. Imam Ali Zain ul Abedeen (a) neither lead Mukhtaar (L) army nor participated with Mukhtaar (L) = (which proves) Mukhtaar was convict of plotting against Imam Hasan (a) i.e. Mukhtaar was enemy of Ahle Bait, Mukhtaar was liar, and he pursued selfish hidden agenda to become king. . Imam Ali Zain ul Abedeen categorized Mukhtaar as "Liar" and in Quran Allah says, "Laanat" on Liars. Thus we Dawoodi Bohras, the followers of Imam Ali Zain ul Abedeen too says "Laanat" on Maloon Mukhtaar.

In every Majlis of Dawoodi Bohra Shia (Shabab) and Bohra Youth (Progressives) when Shahadat of Imam Hasan (a) is recited, "Laanat" is compulsorily showered on Maloon Mukhtaar (L). .

Wa aakhir dawana anil hamdo lillah he Rabbil aalameen.

Almost all Twelvers support him, there are sayings of Imam Zain ul Abideen(as) in his praise, our ulema tell us,and have responded well to the allegations you made above.

Read Amir Mukhtar(as) by Hassan Zafar Naqvi, its available in English as well, you will find answers for all which you mentioned above.

My personal opinion is that Allah will never make a liar, a medium to kill the killers of Imam Husain(A.S). The blood of Imam Husain(A.S) is very pure. The fact that Allah gave success to Mukhtar, itself is a big proof of piety of Mukhtar. Although we know that Mukhtar did commit some mistakes just like Hurr and he asked forgiveness from Allah for those mistakes.

Imam al-Baqir (‘a) thus said about him: “Do not speak ill of Mukhtar because he killed our murderers, did not allow our spilled blood to be disregarded, gave our daughters in marriage, and at the time of difficulty he distributed properties among us.

When Abu’l-Hakam, son of Mukhtar, came to Imam al-Baqir (‘a), the Imam (‘a) showed him a great deal of respect. Abu’l-Hakam asked about his father, saying: “The people are talking about my father, but your view, whatever it is, is the criterion.” At that moment the Imam (‘a) praised Mukhtar and prayed for God to have mercy on him, saying: “Glory be to Allah! My father said that the affection of my mother was from the property that Mukhtar sent to my father.”

And the Imam (‘a) said many times: “May God have mercy upon your father! He did not allow for our right to be trampled. He killed our murderers and did not permit our blood to be disregarded.”

Imam as-Sadiq (‘a) also said: “In our family there was a woman who did not comb and apply henna to her hair until Mukhtar sent the heads of the murderers of al-Husayn (‘a).”

It has been narrated that when Mukhtar sent the head of the accursed ‘Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad to Imam as-Sajjad (‘a), the Imam (‘a) prostrated and made benevolent prayer for Mukhtar.[265]

These false allegations on Hazrat Mukhtar are the works of historians who were spies of Banu Ummaiyah and abdullah ibne zubair. As Maula Ali (A.S) had foretold that Mukhtar will take revenge and his sword will cut the necks of evil doers and will have a lasting impact on the generations of tyrants . so we can easily identify an evil man and if he says something against Mukhtar , then surely he is from the family of Banu Ummaiyah. Mukhtar's revolution was a result of Imam Hussain (A.S) prayers when the imam prayed on the sands of Karbala that " o Lord bring forth a lion of tribe bani saqeef who will take my revenge and will kill my enemies in such a manner that they will pray for death but death will not come"

Mukhtar never participated in any war under the flag of Imam ali a.s or Imam hassan... even he left koofa when Hazrat muslim was alone there. Most shia 12wers never praise mukhtar e saqafi, only his uncle saeed was with Imam ali in the battles, as a shia of imam Ali. Agha Jawad naqvi never praise him and tell that riwayat of "giving imam hassan to moavea" is true... in his blood line the worst enemy of ahlul bait "hujaj ibn e yousuf e saqafi" also found in history... he was with second caliph hazrat umer....
