I was not saying that south Koreans are gay, but really, those SK entertainers seem ultra gay.

EVERYONE, WATCH 200 pounds beauty. I love Korean movies.

After Ramadan though, so we don't get fried.

Thats movie was nice

i'd suggest the japanese "The queen of classroom" it is brilliant

her mean question always rings in your mind when you find yourself stuck in mean situation "can it get worse "

just like a child trying to take off his tshirt then t get stuck around his head , feeling out of air and the end of world is near , in that meani situation the meani question would be asked "can it get worse ?" sadly it can

I have never been a big movie watcher but these days I am watching more than usual, especially horror genre. Watched these over the week:

Insidious - Even though it has many weaknesses such as over-depiction of scary characters and bland second half, the idea is fresh and it is worth a watch. "It is not the house that is haunted. It is you!"

insidious.jpg

Grave Encounters 2 - Sequel to the movie of the same name. A group of overenthusiastic film students want to find out if the footage which was sold to public as fiction was really fiction or was it real. They found out really well :squeez: - But it's not as good as the first one.

Grave_Encounters_2_2.jpg

Shutter Island - A superb movie, this one. What you think is happening isn't happening. The evil ones are the heroes. It's about a mentally ill person who is helped in a psychiatric hospital in a new, innovative way. I enjoyed it a lot.

Coriolanus (2011) - The idea is amazing. How would ancient Rome look like if it existed in 21st century, and if they had modern science, infrastructure, guns and weapons? The lead character comes from Shakespeare, a Roman general with the name of Caius Martius Coriolanus, a patriot who fights dissidents groups but falls prey to the intrigues of the Senators. He is banished and then takes revenge by allying himself with his long-term foe, Aufidius. 7/10.

The Rum Diary (2011) - A journalist takes a job in Puerto Rico and struggles to find balance between the requirements of his job and local demands of justice and fair play. The locals are increasingly agitating about the corruption of large corporations which control most businesses. This movie is unremarkable, to say the least. 4/10

Che (2008) - It's a two part film (dramatization not a documentary) about the struggles of Ernesto "Che" Guevara. The first part deals with his and Fidel Castro's successful guerrilla uprising in Cuba. Che was given Cuban citizenship and important posts in the new socialist Cuban government. A few years later Che disappeared and left a letter behind. He returned to the battlefield to fight corrupt regimes in other Latin American countries - this time in Bolivia where he was betrayed and captured and shot. A wonderful biopic, true to original events and devoid of any fiction. The character playing Che has stunning resemblance to the original. What a great film. 10/10.

The Revolution Will Not Be Televised (2003) - A documentary on the CIA backed military coup to oust democratically elected socialist president, Hugo Chavez. The plot failed miserably due to massive public support for El Preisdente. The lower ranking army officers and soldiers refused to obey the generals who ordered the coup. Chavez was reinstated and the plot failed. A good example of the power of people when there is a will. It gets 10/10 on Marbles' Like-o-meter.

Chernobyl Diaries (2012) - A movie set in the town where Chernobyl nuclear disaster took place in the 1980s. A group of American, yes American, tourists visit the site for extreme tourism, yes extreme tourism, and discover some untoward stuff going on, yes, some untoward horror stuff. White Western fixation with turning disaster sites into horror pits continues without let or hindrance. Like-o-meter rating: 2/10

Good stuff. The first part is better than the second. The latter drags a bit and is uneventful save for the last half an hour. It was a sad end

Del Toro has been excellent not least because of his striking resemblance with Che but also with his acting.

Fetih 1453 (2012) - It's a Turkish film based on the history of the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople. Although the story is told in a very partisan style and paints a very rosy picture of Ottoman Turks' war machinations, it is nonetheless a good watch, especially the standards of acting and historical depiction given it comes from a relatively small film industry.
