Anybody noticing how all of MI6 is commissioned back, missile launchers on rooftops, fighter jets on standby, London looks more like Stalingrad than a 2012 modern city. These preparations look less like a contingency urban warfare planning and more of a preparation for a city soon going to be under siege from some foreign invaders.

What is cooking underneath? Are they getting readied for another sham 9/11? People need to start writing and talking about it. It appears to me they are panning to take the rest of us on another ride of so called war on terror.

These preps are highly unusual and are way over do than what Chinese did even though they had a separatist movement going on a few hundred miles up.

yh i heard about this on bbc news. it sounds fishy. luckily i wont be attending the events.

Ok, if you don't put your seat belts on as the plane is landing, they don't throw you out of the plane, or do they?

What British govt. is doing is a way overkill. I don't mind being extra security prone, given the nature of the city, the real and perceived threats, the international politics and such.

But mounting missiles on rooftops, getting fighter jets readied, this sounds more like a contigency planning for an expected war, and not the civil disturbance that may or may not happen by bunch of over zealot Salafis or by a bunch of soccer hooligans.

I think they're either just being really paranoid, or they're trying to scare people.

Why would you need high velocity missiles over a bunch of flats in stratford or tower hamlets? Even if there is a terrorist attack, i don't understand how that would help- especially in a crowded, residential area.
