Basic Members Sister Fadia_56 Posted April 15, 2012 Basic Members Report Posted April 15, 2012 Salaam alaikum. I would like to find out some information. I was recently told that according to some Marjas it is permissable for a woman to be able to recite Quran in a chat room or infront of non mahram men. I did not want to speak without knowledge. So i decided to come here to ask. I was under the understanding if There are some men who have Marjas 'who allow it and some who don' it is better not to recite. If you could please send me the information i would really appreciate it. Veteran Member Ali_Hussain Posted April 18, 2012 Veteran Member Report Posted April 18, 2012 From shaykh LankaraniQ4: What is the Islamic approach to women reciting supplications and Qur`an to a mixed audience of men and women while she is observing her complete and proper Islamic Hijb? Is her voice part of the ‘aurat’ that must be shielded?A4: There is no problem and her voice is not part of her 'aurat'. http://www.lankarani.com/eng/faq/w.php#women Quote
