Are you talking about hirz e Jawad?

If Hizz-e-Jawwad, then what does DROP mean here?

Hizz-e-Jawwad Ring wears by offering Nazr-e-Chaharda Masoomeen ASWS & specially Maula Jawwad ASWS, and then just wear the ring.

Perhaps, he/she mean that you have to offer a certain prayer in case the ring falls of your hand.

If he/she means it, then just offer Astaghfaar and offer bit sadqa.....Why to complicate Islaam and its teachings!

Cultural and social influence. Many tells thing which do not even adhere to the religious practice. Thus, the fabricator benefits from it and the follower hopes for a good reward.

Yes, Hirz e jawaad, the one with the star on it. And by dropping, I mean, I accidentally knock it off a table and it falls to the ground. I just heard it somewhere, so I'm not sure if it's true.

Whatever you have heard, stick to "Your-Best'Friend"'s advice. You do not offer any prayer [but a Dhikr] if you would accidentally drop the Qur'an (Ma'ath Allah), and most certainty the Qur'an is way above a ring. Atleast say, عفوا
