Guess it turned out to be much easier to answer than he/she first thought.

I'll try and think of a question to replce it...erm, well...it'll be in my next post...

I read a really sad article today about a woman who became paralysed after jumping into a pool. She later refused food and starved herself to death because she didnt want to be a burden on her family and was finding it hard tolerating what her life had become.

Would this technically be suicide? if she wasnt being kept alive by artificial means, if other people werent physically feeding her she would have died a natural death after her accident. Although her intention was to let herself die, it seems like a bit of a grey area to me, heres the article:

Very interesting question. Analyzing the context of her situation, she certainly shouldn't be punished by God. If I wouldn't punish her and still have mercy upon her, then surely God is the most merciful and most understanding.

Did anyone see that panorama on bbc 1 on monday? 'Poor America' - I only caught the end of it, but it was quite sad, all those kids who don't eat at home, and take little bags of ketchup home to make ketchup soup, and that little girl whose said they had rats for dinner...

there was also a good one last week, though again, I only caught the end of it, about internet bullies, they showed some real 'trolls' and as it turns out, that is also a term that gets thrown around on this forum, professional trolls can make people kill themselves, and it doesn't stop there.

I wonder what our scholars say about this. The argument (that without others' assistance she would die anyway) does seem at least partially reasonable. Does anyone know?
