Today February 14th, 2012 is the one year Anniversary of the revolution in Bahrain.

On Feb 14th 2011, tens of thousands of Bahrainis, both sunnis and shias protested against the government and called for political reforms, social justice and an end to government discrimination against them.

One year on, and Bahrainis are still struggling and demonstrating day and night, facing the ruthless regime of Al Khalifa with bravery and determination.

Bahrainis deserve our respect and sympathy. Their leaders do not.

The only way the Bahraini people under current situation can acquire freedom from the regime is through leaders who are willing to take the place as a US puppet.

The American regime has been reasonably successful in discouraging the Bahraini opposition from producing leaders that truly care for their interests.

I have no doubt that like in Yemen and Azerbaijan, the American regime can produce a Shia dictator, who is anti-Iran and pro-American if the regime gives the green light for Khalifa do move.

That will not work in Bahrain. Sunnis of Bahrain would not support secular Shia dictator. They have Large amount of Salafists there. And Shias are mostly religious. Any successful dictator needs strong powerbase. Tribal, religious, or political powerbase. Sunni, Shia, pan arabism, secularism, support from few strong tribes. The only way Bahrain will change is by civil war. Protests will not cut it. Bahrain is small enough country so USA and Saudi can support them indefinitely.

Any US puppet regime would not treat Bahraini shias differently. The best Shias can get there is more direct investment and more economic possibilities. Other, than that they will need a civil war. But they are unlikely to win it.
