(salam)

At the dentist's today, I had to suffer through a cooking show. The two shows were much worse than having a tooth pulled.

The first one, "Billy something", was playing around with grating his own cheese, making his own waffle mix, using his own waffle-iron, blending honey into a berry drink of some-concoction...

...and l'm sitting there thinking, "why not just buy something to throw into the microwave?" That is why supermarkets and corner stores sell this stuff for. Yarrabi.!

Plus, he now has to wash all that stuff. I ain't.

Then there is a second show, where the woman -Alice or Alicia, l guess-  is "resetting"  her refrigerator by using up all this junk she accumulated. She even mentioned "freezing bread" and even l  know that ain't gonna work. (Besdies, that is where l store my pizzas)

She did this. Then she did that. And talking the whole time. So.....I haven't the foggiest idea of what she was doin'.

By now, the dentist has pulled a broken tooth, stuffing gauze into the hole, tells me she's finished...

and l was soooooo blank damned relieved to get away from that TV. Dang!

And l ain't supposed to eat until tomorrow, but......

Breakfast: pita bread with melted butter.

Lunch: I think I'm going to see what leftovers I have. Hungry right now.

Supper: turkey meatloaf burgers and oven fries.

Pizza, home style, with 5+ cheeses, sauerkraut, added tomatoes, potatoes, oregano, pepper and basil.

Gooooooood

Sauerkraut? Really? On pizza?

Yes, sauerkraut. I also sometimes top with a dash of mustard, but if you try this, maybe thin a dab with water and put it over only one area. Otherwise the taste is too strong.

Oh, do not try pickles. Blaaaaah

Looks delicious, but probably not so healthy!

Murgh Makhani...

Butter chicken is what Westerners call it

Makhani means butter, no?

So we should call it buttery chicken, not butter chicken?

No, Butter chicken is right in English but Murgh makhani is right in Urdu. That's how it's known.

They aren't the same anyway - quite a difference between Western and desi varieties.

I've never had it, but I've seen pictures and recipes.  I'm sure if I made it, it would be different from anyone else's.  I sort of just cook, not precisely follow the directions.  My younger son is learning how to cook.  I always encourage him to follow the recipe, but he almost always does his own thing - and he's usually better at it than I am, at least with the spices.  I have experience, but he has a natural knack for spice/seasoning.  He just knows what will be good together and in what proportions.

For dinner last night, we had roasted potato casserole. It needed no acompanyment. Had it for breakfast too. It may make another appearance tonight as a side dish with our meatloaf - which my son wants to make.
