We baked savoury muffins. It has a filling of chicken and white sauce. Its texture is like mashed potatoes when hot, but like muffins when it cools. Great snack.

Just read this thread as I was about to have breakfast so I arranged my best picture for you guys.

In those small bowls are cherries, thyme and sesame, and olives.

What's in each one of those 4 bowls in a row?

I'm going to try these, inshallah. I've made savory muffins with egg, beef, and herbs. This is a little different but similar.

From left to right : brown sugar, cherries in jam (not really jam, they have been boiled in sugar and are still complete), zaatar (thyme and sesame) and olives from my father's garden.

And tea of course.

Hmm, what an unusal mix of ingrediants! How do you have them all together? :)

Haha true, I just dip bread into them mezze style, usually starting with salty and finishing with sweet ones. But not necessarily.

What country normally has this sort of breakfast?

I used one of those "seasoning packets" in my store bought  rice.

l ain't had anything so bad since my mother's cooking.

l couldn't finish it. And Allah-swt does not like wasters.

So it is not just my penurious nature, failing to finish it pushes the religion's envelope.

Question:    ls there anyway l can re-cook this awfuk stuff ?

@Marbles

That looks amazing! Was it only desserts?

They also had a table each for varieties of pasta, exotic seafood, and Mexican cuisine, but it was impossible to try everything!

Probably.  I'm an expert at food recycling.  What seasoning and how much rice and how much seasoning?  Most likely you used much more than was needed. Rice doesn't need much to flavor it.  You can probably just add cooked vegetables and meat or chicken or fish, and maybe more rice.

Salt and chili will also do the job :)

What happened to the thread title? is this an initiative to get people to live%20in%20the%20moment%20mug_zpsfaedg3 instead of reminiscing about past meals and contemplating future ones? thats all well and good, but i'm not eating right now and i came here to share details of the delightful cheese and tomato toastie i had for lunch. In light of the titular refurbishment i feel unable to write what i intended (being the stickler for SC rules that i am :verryhappy:), so i guess i'll have to pop back when im actually eating something...

Google tells me this is a hybrid mandarin. Has it a distinct flavour?

It's quite like adult clementines but a wee bit tangier. The best hybrid mandarin ever created!

Do people stop their meal enjoyment to go on shiachat and post about it?  That seems so weird to me!

-------

I didn't have the stuff to make the savory muffins that @Marbles described with chicken and white sauce, so I made Gyros-Tzatziki Muffins. They were good.  Not outstanding, just good.  The people liked them, so I'll probably tweak them and make them again.  I think I'll include an extra sharp cheddar or feta cheese next time.  The predominant flavor was cucumber, which wasn't a bad thing at all, but the minions request either more meat, or strong tasting cheese.
