Supper. I didn't have lunch but my daughter had frozen cheese pizza.

I see, is that filling for you sister? Here in Middle East we eat soup only as a side or if someone is sick. You skipped lunch as well.

It was a very hearty soup,  with plenty of butter and cream.  There was bread too.

I had breakfast of leftover bean burritos and salad yesterday.  It was enough that I wasn't hungry at lunch time.

Today I had whole wheat toast for breakfast and I'm thinking of having leftover potato soup for lunch. I've got beans in the instant pot already for a pot of chili for supper. I've got diced tomatoes,  tomato paste,  chili peppers, and onion on standby.  I like to start with the beans already cooked.

Yesterday for lunch I ate from subway since I was hungry and I was in the university. After my first lecture was done, I left and had a break in subway, it was my very first time trying it. I ordered steak with cheese, it was ok. I didn’t know what else I should add so I kept it only steak with few slices of cheese and few pieces of onion, green peppers and mushroom.

For dinner I had kofta bil sanieh.

Something weird here

Looks pretty much as if the sample were Americans. Putting themselves equal to France :hahaha:. And likely familiar with the idea of going to an Indian restaurant, but not realising that Pakistani cooking is the same.

Iranian 'cuisine' coming in at 24 is also a mystery.

What even is United States cuisine? Take any normal food and cover it in cheese?

Bismehe Ta3ala,

Assalam Alikum

Back in the day, it was tradition to close this thread and open a Iftar thread.  Sub7an'Allah how times change.

Insh'Allah everyone is having a blessed month of Ramadhan.

You close threads when there's a risk of someone posting in it! Since the last post was 3 months ago and the post which broke that run wasn't about a meal someone had had ...

The Guardian newspaper reviews this place today

It's halal. Not been there myself, and probably shouldn't.

Muslim chef has been trained in famous Texan bbq places ...

"Burnt Smokehouse, 161a Midland Road, Leyton, London E10 6JT. Walk-ins only. Meats £2.50-£10.50/100g; Sauces and sides £1-£6; Dessert £5"

Quote

The £12 burger lives up to the video: a bun just about robust enough to contain its contents, two seared patties with a serious depth of flavour courtesy of a liberal attitude to fat, plus a coating of American burger cheese, the only dairy product properly engineered to melt in the right way. It’s a very good burger. Likewise, the “ribwich”, is a fatly stacked shredded beef sandwich with the crunch of vinegared red cabbage. We also have big melting pieces of the lamb, both crisped and tender, demanding to be pulled apart with already fat-slicked fingers. Burnt really is an eight-napkin-three-shirt-oh-sod-it kind of place.

Looks yummy, what is this?

Haleem. A mixture of various lentils and lamb, with a topping of ginger, coriander and fried onions. For the quantity we needed, it was a cooking time of several hours.

Do you guys cook for each meal or cook one time and have it during the week? How many times do you cook in a week and what do you do for rest of the meals?

I still live with my parents, my mom cooks once per day but we eat it for the next day if there are some leftovers, sometimes she is not in a mood or tired so I cook instead.

Yes haleem is similar to harees but has more meat and different lentils.

Brought back good memories but won't be eating

Too much-saturated fat, so no longer allowed to eat. But the last time I ate this was around 2007, just before a whale-watching trip in Iceland.

I spent some of that trip vomiting this up due to the waves. Not as high as the ones in Interstellar, but scarily close.

My wife joined me on the side of the boat as she threw up as well.

And we left Maryam in the care of the other passengers, complete strangers but understanding.

Nobody on that trip saw any whales.

Happy Days.
