Advanced Member Diaz Posted April 16, 2021 Advanced Member Report Share Posted April 16, 2021 Before yesterday for iftar I had “kofta bil siniyah“ with bread, Laban and grape leaves which my aunt made. For suhoor I had the leftovers but with juice. Yesterday for iftar I had grilled chicken with potato and Laban. For suhoor my cousin made some butter chicken with rice, I had it with my aunt’s leftover stuffed grape leaves and orange juice. notme
Moderators notme Posted April 16, 2021 Moderators Report Share Posted April 16, 2021 Yesterday evening we had "cheeseburger macaroni" or as my people referred to it: "like hamburger helper but without all the extra salt". It was made from cooked lean ground beef, chopped onion, a can of rotel diced tomatoes with chilis, mustard, red pepper flakes, and melted cheddar and american cheeses, and a can of condensed cream of mushroom soup, to which I added water and cooked the macaroni right in. Everyone was a little surprised that they liked it. This morning I had the same, plus saltines with jam, plus a few spoonfuls of plain yogurt, plus an apple, plus coffee with milk and molasses, plus a pint of water. Tip: if you are going to fast, try to incorporate molasses and yogurt into your pre-fast meal. Yogurt delays thirst and molasses delays hunger, and I have no idea why for either. hasanhh

Veteran Member hasanhh Posted April 18, 2021 Veteran Member Report Share Posted April 18, 2021 So, for suhoor l had oatmeal and cheese. Then after Fajr, l topped it all off with the immediately above exercise in paranoia. Remember the old saying: Just because you are paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you. "Gosh, l wonder if old dotard here is really losing his mind . . . errr . . . or should it be 'my' mind. Or maybe everyone else is losing theirs. Now l am confused again." Moderators notme Posted April 19, 2021 Moderators Report Share Posted April 19, 2021 We had frozen pizza again. I didn't cook because we had too much left over, but nobody wanted to eat the leftovers so when I went out for a walk they cooked frozen pizzas. Does this mean I still don't have to cook? And this morning I had a peanut butter and raisin sandwich, a pear, a few spoonfuls of yogurt, and coffee with milk and molasses. The plan for tonight is vegetable and hummus sandwiches. hasanhh

Then add them into the blender, u can add sugar as much as u want, some ppl add orange blossom water or rose water as well. hasanhh

Moderators notme Posted April 23, 2021 Moderators Report Share Posted April 23, 2021 We had vegetarian stuffed peppers. Getting all those vegetarians into the peppers was challenging but totally worth it. (It was quinoa, bean sprouts, diced tomato, soy sauce, and seasonings to resemble the flavor of fried rice. Was pretty good.)

Today for iftar my father ordered kebab, grilled chicken and beef with rice from one Iranian restaurant. I had 2 pieces of kabab and the grilled chicken, someone took quarter of the chicken without asking me For suhoor I had 2 pieces of mini beef fatayer and spaghetti with guava juice.
