wow @ the shahdah (declaration). How can anyone seriously respect this guy when he says [Edited Out] like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kDLHHRHb6Q&feature=related

Let's not turn this into a political bashing thread, it's a thread of celebration.

But for the sake of argument, and I'd rather not have this go into a discussion, the following are facts:

I don't see anything wrong with what he stated. (my personal opinion)

Don't mix religion with politics bro, that's only for the Masoomeen to decide (fact). Iran is not Masoom (fact), Khamenei is not Masoom (fact).

Listen, I don't agree that we should divide, especially now, however, we cannot let injustice take place, no matter who does it. So let's not start flaming and bashing each other, I'm not posting anti-anyone videos, but you are, so inshallah we should stop that. Let the scholars discuss their differences and issues amongst themselves, we don't need to get involved so directly.

I agree with sheikh Yasser al-Habib and disagree on this issue. I love Imam Khomieni r.a yet I see Khamenai as a bit of an oppressor

"Iran is not masoom."

What does that even mean? If you are referring to Iran as a piece of land, well then fallibility / infallibility cannot apply to it, because it's a piece of land.

If you are referring to the cultural entity, well then that's a theoretical concept, and again the notion of fallibility / infallibility cannot apply to it.

If you are referring to the Iranian nation -- the people of Iran -- then that refers to a collective of individuals (not just one), and again, the notion of fallibility / infallibility cannot apply.

If you are referring to the political system of Iran, then that is again a collective of individuals, and you have the same problem as above.

So what on earth are you talking about when you say "Iran is not masoom."

As for Seyyed Ali Khamenei... the body ceases to be a coherent entity, if the hand starts attacking the head. And if one defends the hand in this case, then he can no longer claim to have any genuine concern for the body!!!

"Iran is not ma'soom" is meant to be a wake-up call to the people who think that "Iran" is a perfect "Shi'a" government and country. I'm aware that the statement doesn't make sense literally, I didn't intend for it to be taken that way.

Edit: I know this response to you sounds harsh, I apologize. So I edited it to be better inshallah.

This is like the tenth topic in the past week that has turned into Shia fighting Shia because of somethings another Shia said that didn't go along with something else another Shia said. Why don't you all go work towards perfecting your salah, ensuring your communities are fed and taken care of, memorizing Al-Quran, or anything that ACTUALLY brings you benefit in your religion. Seriously, I don't know why people convert to Islam anymore when debating, arguing, and refuting is all Muslims do everyday.

Ameen to that bro

Like I said, this is a thread of celebration, not for in-fighting. Jazakallah khayra

That is true.

But it doesn't happen when a Sheikh like Sheikh Yasser Habib attacks other Shiite leaders.

Thus when you have a person attacking someone else. You can't say hey lets all love each other.

Bro, I have a quote from my Sheikh, you have a picture of your Supreme Leader, the difference is that I'm not quoting bad things about Khamenei whenever I see you post on a thread. Does that make sense?

If you want to slander or attack Sheikh Yasir al-Habib's views and opinions, then make a thread about it in the appropriate section insha'Allah.

Stop it with the fighting here! Start your own topic if you want to fight over the issue. If one person comments here, the other person should keep their mouth closed for the sake of peace. Agree to disagree. Celebrate the fact there is another Muslim, which is infinitely more important than your fighting.

It's in-fighting like this that keeps non-Muslims from converting to Islam. I had such a hard time putting up with listening to arguments when I first converted, as everything was so confusing. You born Muslims don't understand how complicated and frightening you make it for people like me.

Exactly bro, I agree.

Insha'Allah keep researching and don't be afraid of haqq. Don't judge the truth by the people, as Imaam 'Ali (as) said. We remind ourselves of this every day.
