As salam Alaikum sisters!

My name is Marjorie, I live in Ontario, Canada. Born in Honduras, Central America.

I haven't converted yet because I wish to learn more about Islam first. It's just a preference. Personally, I just want to feel that I deserve to become Muslim. So I will prove that to my self by learning all the basics and knowledge first. And I'm almost there! My thirst for knowledge on Islam is just wonderful and Allah has given me the strength to continue. Some may say I'm already Muslim because I believe :) However the time will come where I will take my Shahada. I will be starting classes at my local Shia Mosque next week! :D

I come from a Catholic/Christian background, so it's been a tough road for me. There were times where I couldn't handle the thought of hurting my family. But Insha'Allah with time and understanding they will fully support my decision. Slowly but surely I already have some family members supporting me.

I am new to shiachat.com. MashAllah this is a wonderful place! I look forward to hearing from all of you :)

I'm a convert from a Christian background too, my dad is a minister. It's very hard, especially at the beginning but just remember Allah won't give you more hardship than you can handle. Hamdulillah you've heard the call of Islam, congratulations sister.

Where in Ontario are you? I'm in Ottawa.

Mashallah :) My older brother married the daughter of a Pastor and he's incredibly religious, you can imagine the hardship he gave me when he found out I was accepting Islam! and I'm living in Brampton, Ontario. I don't go to Ottawa often but if you go to Toronto at all inshallah give me a shout! :)
