(salam)

(bismillah)

If I wanted to write an Areeza to Imam Mehdi (atf), is there a specific day on which I should write it? Can I write it in english? Also, some people say you're supposed to bury it and some people say you should throw it in a river or a sea. So what should I do with it? The nearest river to me is the Thames so do I have to go to the Thames and just throw it in there?

I know this is gonna sound kind of stupid, but won't the writing get all blurry and messed up if I throw it in the water?

Salam 'Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh

To answer your questions:

1. The best time to send it is in the morning of 15th Shabaan. I have heard it is good to send it on Fridays.

2. You can throw it in a River/Sea and also a Well. I have also heard that you can bury it but I think throwing it in a River/Sea is better.

3. You put it in a bottle and throw it you don't just throw the paper in the River.

In your case put it in a bottle, take it to the river thames, read the dua I posted and then throw it in. inshallah imam a.j recieves it by the grace of Almighty Allah s.w.t

" Bismillah Hir Rahmanir Raheem.

LOUDLY…Ya husain Bin e Rauh

Then in normal tone…

Salamun alika ashahado anna wafateka fi sabilillahe wa annaka

Haeyyun indallahe marzooqun wa qad qa tab toka fi hayatekal latee

Laka indallahe azza wa jalla wahaadehi ruk atee wa hajatee ela maulana

sahibal asr e alaihislam fa sallim ha aelaihe fa antas fiqetul ameen."

As for the marja3 view on it, I am not too sure inshallah a more knowledgeable person can answer that question for you.

Not to put a damper on your excitement, but in my experience, areezas aren't very effective.

Well for me alhamdulillah it was effective, whether it was a coincidence or real Allah (swt) knows. It may sound far-fetched throwing a piece of paper in a bottle in the river and expecting Imam (atfs) to get it, but if Allah (swt) wills then it will happen.

I'm not calling the concept farfetched-- if I were to do that, I could call anything in Islam farfetched. What I am doing is calling the concept ineffective.

I see, well from my experience it was kind of effective alhamdulillah, are you sure you did it correctly?

Yup, I'm sure I've been doing it correctly, and I've been doing it for many years.

hmm, mind telling me how you do it?

I usually just follow the instructions given at the masjid, and I've done this at different masjids over the years.Usually they have us write our wishes on a paper that has duas on it, and people at the masjid collect it to put in the water. I've even done it online, where they supposedly print it out and put it in the water for you. Regardless, I thought Islam was about intentions. If someone had been praying incorrectly for years, would God still reject those prayers? If so, that is a cruel and unmerciful God.

Saying of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) : "The world is not trouble-free for the believer, how can it be when it is his prison and his trial?" our beloved prophet Muhammad s.a.w. [Kanz al-`umal, no. 6090]

This transient existence on Earth is a place of trials. So we must exercise patience and thank Allah for every situation. Sometimes we may ask for something which may be bad for us in the long run. Have faith in the plan of Allah for you. And continue to pray and write areezas.

Moula Ali said..."Dua darwaze pe dastak ki tarah hai,Dua hamesha mangte rahein, Kyun ki baar baar dastak se drawaza khul hi jaata hai "

rough translation: A dua is like knocking on a door. Please continue do dua as frequent knocking will eventually cause the door to be opened.

When i was reading the statement - islam is about intentions, i remembered this interesting article --> http://www.islamicinsights.com/religion/religion/all-in-the-intention-right.html
